Nice vid but still want to see against a more aggro 3b sticky kind of a guy. This is like the other video i saw more of a abc guy. AT 24:23 of the video say your the guy in position and you have bottom 2 pair on that board hitting the turn do you like checking back the flop and betting turn? Or do you ever bet flop and check turn? Or is this a spot to double barrel since we pick up more equity on the turn and could be best on the turn? These are the spots i get confused I like to check back flop and bet turn but i feel maybe its bad when a bad turn comes and makes me want to bet flop more and then check back on the turn to pot control but at the same time that line is setting me up to get river bluffed.

Hi there,

With the scenario you create,I like a bet with Q753 . On the flop were looking to get value from any Axxx and straightdraws, along with protection vs. any pair/gutshot. We also dont mind him folding a hand like KJ99 which picks up equity on the turn more often then one would think.

If we check flop and looking to bet turn, we might face a lead on straightening cards which we cant call unless its a spade. If he leads a blank card like K, we probably have to fold aswell since I dont like the situation where we have to call turn and blank rivers in order to bluffcatch.

I wouldnt mind check flop and call turn bets with hands that we can bluffcatch more comfortable with (A982, AQJ5, J876 etc). Those are hands that always can call a turn lead.

Hope my thoughts helped a little bit!.

I agree. I like your analysis and pace of this vid, but villain is playing too straight forwardly.

I am noticing this in a lot of videos its versus standard regs. Thats not who i play in 2016-2017 the guys are very sticky and hero calling. They know we are using blockers to bluff with and are going to hero call and make it tough to bluff them. This is kind of opponents i would like to see how he adjusts versus guys who are not easy to bluff. More of the isildur kind of opponent. Also plays more of a high variance style. And people say well tighten your range but if they have a tight range then that doesn't work we need to steal blinds. So basically when using blockers doesn't work post flop it really ham strings us to not doing to much post flop. I really don't know what the best adjustment is to be. And that fine line of cutting out what cb hands and checking back more with of what kind of range post flop and also what value hands we should cb more without getting exploited for it.

Good comments by both of you. Cobra Kal point out something that has struggled me many times. If I would keep it as short as possible; in my experience you can beat those wild players with two different approaches dependning on your tolerance. If you are tolerant to variance you can go for "fight fire with fire" approach. Try to exploit his aggressive tendencies with being aggressive in certain spots which usually leads to alot of big pots and swings. I do think its a way to beat them if you exploit them correctly, but its hard fought and sometimes you might end up burning alot of buyins in the attempt.

The second approach is to play way more defensive and grinding the opponent down. For example limping preflop, 3betting a tight range, folding marginal hands vs open preflop. Let him cbet 90% and still fold your blockers and mediocre hands All this knowing that he will make bigger mistakes in other scenarios when you the advantage and wait for them. Pass up on the high risk spots and wait for the safer ones.

Just some thoughts about the different adjustments you can make.
