Glad that you are back and congratz for the deep run on the EPT main! Maybe some hands discussed here in Rio ? (:

Fun video. I prefer to be less talkative on FTs and may put my headphones to focus a bit more but the overall advice here is amazing for internet grinders.

How likely the HU on MTT series is to come back ? I'd love to see more of that and we have almost no content about it here.

Nick I really enjoyed the video.  I am probably somewhat of an atypical RIO user, as I am older (45) and primarily a live game player.  I am believe you are on the right track to enjoy yourself socially with your table mates, and engage in conversation.  In my opinion it is actually very + EV from a poker perspective to gain comfort with this.  Absolutely there with be situations which arise where people slow play you consciously or unconsciously because they like you. You may pick up tells on people more easily.  Amazing things can happen.  This can all be accomplished by just being what we should all be which is kind and respectful of others.  More important than any +EV poker situation, this is +life EV, which in my opinion is far better.

You are exactly right in fostering a friendly environment to recreational players such as myself.  Poker is unique is allowing the mixing of professional such as yourself and amateurs such as me.  It is absolutely to professionals benefit of course.  For many amateurs  at an event like WSOP they are searching primarily for life experiences, the money is secondary. Welcome them and engage them. You may find they are really interesting and successful individuals in other fields. I know my experiences meeting some professionals at my last couple of WSOPs have been great, and I count some of them as friends now.

Live poker is super fun, can be very profitable, and something you can do forever.  You will find as you get older that it is the people, and conversations rather than the pots you hold on to.  Thanks again for the great video.  I hope to meet you at WSOP next year.  Jeff

Literally could not have expressed this any better. Promoting a social environment also makes poker much more appealing to new players and keeps recreational players in our games.

If every player had their headphones on and their hoodies up, live poker would be a very tedious affair!

Nick, great vid! Do you think that staring at opponents while they are deciding is good for our image or not?

Thx, Andrea Dato

I think that some strategy talk is +ev. For example, I would often ask my opponents what they would do in my spot. It really helps you gauge where your opponent's thought process is at and prevents you to out-level yourself.
