Hey so I appreciate your insight on various topics but you missed a video two weeks ago and now this again? Sorry lol but where are the nlhe vids?!

Dog18 6 years, 3 months ago

I mean ya. A lot of the subscribers on RIO are pros who are looking to learn no limit holdem from specifically Ben Sulsky

James, I know Ben has been super consistent- I have been subbed since near the start. But then curious what happened as to why there was a two week skip?

+1
I paid for an elite subscription this month hoping for NLHE vids from Sauce but it's been 7 weeks and nothing. Really disappointed to see another fusion video but at the same time very thankful he's making videos at all.

People are not continuously paying $100/month to rewatch videos from 2013. They’re also entitled to give feedback on what they expect for their money.

I enjoy listening to your thinking process Ben, I've learn a lot from your videos especially with your pio stuff, but I feel this types of videos playing a extrange game that nobody plays are for for fun value more than anything else, and from a player like you I always have high learning expectatives but this don't provide much of that so I have to admit I'm a little dissapointed with this series.

I didnt watch this video yet but i dont get all the complaints. There are sooooooo many nl videos by Ben. The guys complaining, youve really watched them all? Understood every spot? Doubt it. Gl ever getting a sauce plo video with this type of feedback.

Ben thank you for what you do for the site. Put out whatever you want, i could listen to you talk about house painting all day or just about anything.

I count 109 NLHE videos by him, 17 in 2018. It should take you quite a while to go through them all. I don't play much NLHE cash, but most of the videos on this site are on it and PLO high, and would prefer something else from a top player. There are thousands of videos available on NLHE, but this may be the first on Fusion. Also, insights from other games are transferable to the more standard games.

The most interesting part of this game is where u have a total back door the previous st, but hit the total nuts the next st, since drawing two cards. Hahaha, the “oh wow” factor

I very much enjoyed watching you adapt and learn in real time. Thank you very much ! You content is always of the highest quality and incredibly thoughtful.

A few comments on the game. From Stars point of view, it is a PLO variant, so a rake generator. It also encourages donks to chase and is interesting to good players. It isn't an easy game to play a lot of tables of. It also is suited to online. It would be somewhat tricky and time consuming for a real dealer to deal the flop and give everyone still in the hand a card.

You want to make good PLO hands, so medium to high connected cards and pps are good, the higher the better, but like 98o is decent. Suited aces are good. Disconected cards and low cards are junk. Low pps are really bad. About 8% of pps become trips in your hand, which lowers the value of all pps somewhat.

This is the closest we've ever gotten to Sauce PLO content and people are complaining?!

betgo 6 years, 3 months ago

Yeh, I liked his quasi PLO analysis and would be interested in PLO videos from him. However, important to space in enough NLHE videos to keep some of the people here happy.

Pretty cool game/video. I assume the value/fun to be had these days is by playing games that have not been studied to the Nth degree so I understand going after this game. Was planning on shifting over to playing NLCP (Pineapple) on the site I play on - thoughts on deviations to be made?

Wanted to chime in here to this discussion. Imo we’re pretty lucky that a dude like sauce is even putting out content like he has been for the last few years here on rio. It’s been a minute since his last nlhe vid and I (prob like a lot of folks) check in frequently hoping for a new vid from Ben.
That being said it is the holidays and it’s tottaly understandable that he’s not pumping out vids this time of year. For 100$ a month it’s insane value to be able to listen and learn from one of the goats.
I for one am thankful and am an infinitely better player thanks to his vids and the other pros on this site.

Its clearly true that paying customers get to give negative feedback if content is not to their taste, but I think people frequently approach training site content with too narrow a perspective, "im a hu player, wheres the hu content?", "i subscribed for 6max NL, wtf is this fullring vid?" I'm primarily a 6max cash PLO player, I watch HUNL vids, NLMTT vids, really any video made by someone I think is smart and might say something I can derive value from. If anything, I've learned more about how to think about PLO from non PLO vids because, like watching a movie in a language you're trying to learn, lack of familiarity with the content forces you to turn off viewer auto-pilot and engage with whats being said - does it apply to my primary format? Why, or why not? Could I modify this insight to make it applicable to the games in which I play? Thats what teaches you how to think about poker, which is how you consistently improve.
