Hey, Krzysztof Slaski - I was going to ask you this a couple of months ago, but is there a particular reason that you choose to play on Bodog? Is your preference dictated by the country that you currently occupy (can't play on PokerStars from where you are?) or are there other reasons? I live in the U.S. and as such I don't have any really great options for online play, but I do get curious about their reasons why when I see other players who live outside the U.S. playing on sites other than PokerStars.
Looking forward to your next video release, as always! Thanks, Krzysztof!
I live in Canada, so I have all the sites available to me, and I don't really see much of an incentive to play on Stars. The games are softer everywhere else, and as long as I can avoid giving my business to the new management running this company I will continue to do so.
Hopefully one day I can put all my volume on RIO poker :)
Hey,
Enjoyed your video. Question on one of your last comments, on the J5dd hand. You explained that you would have called a bet on the river, once the 5 comes. You bet 2.5 x pot on the flop; what hands, when bet, do you have beat? You bet 2.5x to fold out his A highs and hands with backdoors, which are the combos that may turn their hands into a bluff on the river. 4x, I would guess would be happy to get to showdown and A5, A2, which may defend flop, have you beat now. Thanks for thoughts,
Noam
So the 1.5x flop bet there won't fold out many of his Ahighs and strong backdoors. This is a very dry board, and one that is difficult to defend for OOP, so even against the large sizing he won't be able to just call his pairs. I would have expected to hear from his sets the majority of the time on the flop and I'm expecting the 3x hands to be reduced at least a little when he doesn't lead the turn. therefore, it becomes fairly easy for him to overbluff that river. We would also continue to bet the turn pretty aggressively, since it is a very good one for us and our value region wants to continue getting bets from his 9x and 4x hands - this leaves our river range fairly weak, so I think nearly all 1p hands would need to call against bets that aren't crazy.
