Hey, Krzysztof Slaski - Thanks for another great video. Regarding splitting your range into different cbet sizes on various flops, what sort of sizes (assuming we're sticking with 2 for now) are generally preferred (obviously specific ranges and board textures are a determining factor, as well as turn and river bet sizing options)? A small bet and a large bet, I would imagine, but based on an experiment I did with PIO yesterday it seems like the precision of the sizes really do effect the EV fairly significantly. Basically (sparing the details) what I came up with on one specific board with pre-packaged CO and BB ranges in a SRP with the option to bet or check was that PIO showed the greatest EV with something like 20% and 90% flop cbet sizes. This wasn't surprising, but the fact that changing those sizes to 33% and 100% lost a noticeable amount of EV was surprising. This happened with single sizings as well, with about 130% as the single cbet size being far superior to both larger and smaller bets (even a size of 100% or 150% lost significant EV, and the beloved 33% size did not work well at all as an only size).

So, I guess none of what I said is really that relevent, but I was wondering if you knew of any sort of split sizings that were commonly used or accepted? 25% and 100% feels pretty intuitive to me, but again, board texture, ranges, etc.

If you can't make sense out of this, have no fear. I can hardly make any sense out of it myself. Let me try this: what type of sizings do you prefer to use, generally speaking, when choosing two cbet sizes on the flop?

Thanks, Krzysztof!

Hey,

I will generally use 33% and either 125% or 75-85% pot(unless I feel lazy haha), depending on the board texture (and sometimes I'll use 3 sizes if I feel confident I know the spot well enough). That being said I have not done this sort of research myself.

The big thing people miss when evaluating whether they should use multiple bets on flops and/or turns is that you get to see your opponent construct 2 different defending ranges, which gives him more chances to make mistakes. I wouldn't recommend getting super bogged down on whether using 25% and 90% or 33% and 100% is better based on EV differences in PIO. Keep in mind PIO will play perfect vs each of those sizings, which your opponents won't. So figuring out which of those gets misplayed against more often will be far more valuable than running a massive analysis of just pure EV numbers with PIO.

Cheers, and thanks for the continuous support of my content !

Hi Krzysztof, very nice video. I’m new here and I play NL 25 mainly so my question maybe be a little dumb, but if you find the time to reply them I would really appreciate.
Looking forward for your next video.

@ 18,20 AQ
You said you use this hand a mix, while my strategy is a pure check. We got the range advatange but I think I got low fold equity and I’m not comfortable barreling off when a blank comes. I might be more inclined to cbet and bet again with reads obv, but I still lean toward checking even in the spot when he folds a lot in general.
Do you think checking here all the time is a huge leak?

Hey, thank you for the compliment.

Yeah I think a pure check with the AQ here would cost you some money. If I were to go with a pure strategy I think betting makes more sense. We have GREAT equity vs his continuing range (Pretty much always 6+ outs if he doesn't check-raise), great hand to keep betting turns (since we will almost always retain our 6+ outs on the turn, and calling his Tx hands vs a turn overbet becomes kinda difficult) and it's a spot where IP will have a pretty decent range advantage(the large cards favor IP and rainbow boards also favor IP). Additionally, we just beat and dominate a lot of his range here, which is always nice.

I got low fold equity and I’m not comfortable barreling off when a blank comes.

This doesn't really add up for me. If we have low fold equity on the flop, turn bets should become very profitable. Additionally, like I mentioned above he has a lot of continues that we just beat.

I think you might be focusing on the hand a little too much, and not enough on where it falls within your range. If you play your hands where they belong your strategy will just fall into place nicely

Cheers.

Hi, great content as always !

35:40 hand
Imagine you are not HU,
Do you prefer to use a 100% small bet strat OTT after x IP on this flop ?

Will you only bet a big size river after 3/4 turn or do you have multiple betsize and start valuing some 8x or small tp ?

Cheers.
