Krzysztof Slaski

POSTED Jan 19, 2025

Krzysztof Slaski, the Polish Assassin, offers his thoughts post game after battling in his last session of the year without going into too much detail on an individual hand and looking for more generalized strategy discussion to improve his game into 2025.

Hey Krzysztof - pretty interesting format! When I first saw the title I thought they uploaded the same vid by mistake :D

Gonna watch the last video now, cheers :)

Hey Krzystof - love the format a lot esp for the thought process reviewing part. Would be nice to see a part II to finish this off and more of this in the future as the play and explain format is great too!

02:53 IP going for polar raise sizing - I think the pool is mostly lacking of Q6s/Q5s/J6s/A6s/93s/94s type of 0ev bluff - what kind of adjustment do you think SB can do?

Krzysztof Slaski 3 months ago

Hey! Thanks for the feedback

Not sure I agree with that. Seeing a BDFD+BDSD I think sets off some alarm bells that the hand likes to get in there. I would also assume people who miss those will overuse hands like 64s, J9s, T9o etc. to correct the bluffing frequency.

To answer your question though, likely not much of an adjustment, since it's such a low frequency play to begin with. Reduce some of the threshold defends like 76s, TT,99. Increase 3bets with hands like Q8 by the tiiiiniest bit.

Yeah that makes sense! Thanks!

Hahaha love it :D

Agreed that AJo OTT facing checking twice have decent SDV + have some implied odds on A riv.

Do you think exploitatively - we can bluff liberally on this turn facing double check here? I think rec's range is weak at this point and more importantly, the regular at BB should play more face up given the dynamic that there's a rec in SB, so when they check twice I feel we can just fire all our none-showdown bluffs - curious on your thoughts!

Yep ! I have no issue with that. As I said in the video I can get on board either way here. I think your reasoning is sound.

34:31 regarding the BU river bluffing node - you mentioned in the liveplay video that

"on an exploitative note, when the As is unblocked, it becomes a little bit difficult for BU to bluff correctly here"

Could you elaborate a bit on the exploit here? Thanks

Krzysztof Slaski 3 months ago

What I mean is when the As is unblocked, the # of flushes for IP increases by a few combos, which is very significant for a tight range river situation.

If this board is AsKs4c lets say, and we get to the river in the exact same manner, all of the AQss-A5ss combos are blocked, so it's less combos jamming. (some of the good Aces are jamming anyway of course, but it's still less combos).

Cheers!

So what you saying is:

when As is unblock -> IP has way more value combo relatively -> IP is allowed to bluff wider given the value/bluff ratio -> but in practice it's difficult for people to find those SDV bluffs here

Is this chain of logic correct?

Krzysztof Slaski 3 months ago

Yeah exactly. He has to bluff some Kx hands there and the majority of the QJT region so it's not an easy bluffing spot to begin with.
