POSTED Apr 09, 2013

Jason resumes the action 5 handed and sets his sights on the top prize. Currently 2nd in chips, Jason begins the video in the unenviable position of having the chip leader on his immediate left.

The best quote from the series is 'a bet size with range'. Makes you really think about your game and how you get to spots with your hands.

Awesome series again Jason. Thank you so much.

Do you think rdcrs should fold 22 at the 22-23 min?
JackLovely 12 years ago
I think 22 would be to weak to induce with and to strong to fold against his extremely wide open-range. So it's an easy shove in my book.

Thx for a great series Mr Koon!

We are talking about me opening cutoff? I think he's all-in, ulaf. If he were closer to the 2 of 4 stack he would need to be folding there. With 2 guys behind he's gonna have to stuff his 19bb.

Yeah, unless I misunderstood you said "it's not like he's slamming it all-in with deuces or something", made me wonder.

what about 3bet folding the last hand, if your not in the mood of playing out of pos against a very good opponent with a hand that plays bad ?
Jason Koon 12 years ago
It is certainly an option. The hands raw equity is high, but its playability post isn't great if you're uncomfortable heads up. I still think we all should be calling here in this particular situation.

min5 K7o

If the majority of his range is KJ,KQ,AA and air, don't you think you extract more value with min click it back on this flop vs a good regular (as u mentioned in previos videos). I just don't think you are floating here often enough with these stacks for him to continue bluffing the turn when you flat flop. Furthermore i think he can interpret a min CIB on this board the way we want and make some spew play, cuz he expects you to flat with all monsters here.

Thanks for nice video series Jason, gl in future!

Hey Smile. The main reason behind calling is that I need to protect the rest of my range that will be calling check raises. I often will be calling with marginal hands to evaluate what villains play is on the turn/river. Also the bluffs that he has in his range are near drawing dead v me and will often double or triple barrel after picking up turn equity (ex. QJs c/r K73 turn 10). Thanks and gl!

Hello Jason, ty for your videos! I wanted to talk about the hand where u defend KK from the BB 30bbs effective (16:00). On the river u try to determinate the right amount to bet. In order to do this, u say that we have to think about the worst hand that we value bet (K8) and u conclude that the right amount to bet is half pot. Can u give me more details about that?

Thank you very much

Also why is betting the river better than a check/call or a C/R (if u have a loose agressive image) since we dont really have a bluffing range when we bet river in this spot? I dont see vilain bluff raising or hero calling river with an eight for example. If he has better than an eight, he will very often thin value bet these hands so we dont miss any value by checking the river. About the C/R i dont really know, it looks very strongh to me and i cant really imagine that we can get called by worse. What do u think jason? ^^

37:52 33, I think it's optimistic, I gave him this range (AK is occasionally there) http://prntscr.com/86ma8j . We need 44% and it's not close enough
