In today's video, Mike talks a lot about being a feel player. Another important topic from today is taking into account board texture before other information like your specific hole cards.

What does it mean to be a feel player? Well, a lot of poker discussion about the "right" thing to do happens where people can think for a long time and use tools to help them solve problems. In game, you need to take into account all of the same information, and ask the same questions... but often you need the answer in a second or two. Today's discussion on feel is an introduction that will be continued in future videos

I completely agree with what you said about your opponents reacting quickly when you react quickly. I have always noticed this but never really thought about it, or put it into words. My question is how can we use this to our advantage? You sort of went over it in the video but could you give an example of a hand?

I don't have one off hand right now, but I'll keep this in mind.

If you have an idea of where you'd like to apply or not apply it, I'd be happy to help you make use of it for your game.

Another great video Mike, I think perhaps your best to date. I've been watching your videos and I look at bet timings now all the time, and I saw how the villain bet quickly at 7:52 and again at 23:45. Like you, I said wow, something's going on here. Causes you to reevaluate.

At 5:05 you talked about a weaker player acting quickly if you do. Great info that you can capitalize on. However, when I'm in-game, by the time I realize that happened the next card is exposed and now I have to evaluate. That takes time and consequently I am not able to act quickly hoping the villain does likewise. From now on I'll watch for that and if the next card does not help the villain I'm going to make a snap bet.

Now about playing by feel. In your discussion would you say that 'feel'='intuition'? What a super topic. I'm going to be following this post regularly to see what other players think about it and how often they play be feel. If anyone can give hand examples of when they played by feel that would be great.

I could watch these types of videos all day. Thanks Mike!

Do not think that "feel" is a substitute for math. "Feel" can and should be calculated to strengthen your intuition. For most players playing by feel means they do not understand the math but they have a feeling its on their side, try not to fall into that trap. Obviously you can't do advanced calculations at the table but you can away from the table. This will help you fully understand a scenario and in turn have a better feel for the scenario the next time it arises.

Yeah, you summed it up pretty well. The idea is to use it to make better use of the things you already know, not to pretend that you can find the "perfect" play every time with it.

You should bet as you said because we fold out a lot of hands w/o history.   if not then c/r if you think his range is Kx to $53-58 it will make your game tougher to play against and is profitable [plus we can create a value c/r on this texture quite easily!]!
