Ben Grise12 years, 2 months agoGreat video. Have always realized how important 3betting is, but this video does a great job illustrating how vital it is to avoid putting yourself into tough decisions when 3 betting incase we get 4bet (ie. A9 last hand) and how sometimes it's alright to peal somewhat strong hands sometimes rather than 3 betting (TT earlier in the video).
Jono Crute12 years, 2 months agoThanks Ben! I think the trend has gone to 3betting loads, I probably still don't peel enough but flops are aight sometimes!
mpowah12 years, 2 months agoАKo hand on the first minute, where you 3bet vs 2FLY2TILT. You have a shortstack behind you and if you 3bet (no matter the sizing) you're going to have to call his shove. There's also another player yet to act with around 22k, so you might be pot commited vs him as well. Can you be bluffing here at all? I guess AT-AQ, some Axs hands and KQo type hands would be bluffs, but I'd still expect 2FLY2TILT to percieve your 3bet as very strong (probably correctly so) and so his shoving range would be strong as well. Do you think he shoves AQo-99?
Jono Crute12 years, 1 month agoI can definitely have some bluffs here, the fact I have to call the shorter stacks just weights my range to hands with more preflop equity, remember that them having no f/e actually handcuffs them quite a bit since good hands are hard to come by! However like you say its still gonna be a fairly strong 3betting range but our hand still has more than enough equity especially when you include AQo which i wouldnt expect him to fold
chrifeq12 years, 1 month ago@5:45 do you ever 3barrell this board? it'd be hard for him to call down with a pair if you're v-betting every Q and every pair 99+ (do you think it'd be correct to value bet those hands?). your J helps as a blocker to him having QJ, and maybe we can assume he 3bets AQ preflop? Basically I wonder why he should be calling the turn with his pairs if we're seemingly never bluffing that card? ty for the help.
Jono Crute12 years, 1 month agoThis is defintiely good thinking, strongly considering his defending range and our blockers to dictate our action is great but in this case I just felt rightly or wrongly he would just think very straightforward that we dont have a Q and just keep heroing.
dantonius1812 years, 1 month agoGreat video I struggle to build stacks in this tournament(probably due to my small sample size in it) and your series have really helped. Just wondering if you have tried thinking of a reason a player whose as good as Caio would jam 12bb like that. It seems he ships any 2 utg in that spot and thats just gotta be bad. it wasnt even like there were a bunch of push fold stacks behind where itd kind of be reasonable. I just dont get this at all.
@33:00 w/88 - Given that his range is pretty face up for pocket pairs and weak aces, would you ever consider turning your hand into a bluff by overbetting the river, like 105k? He's plan is most likely to call us on the river (unless he got like 77-88 maybe), but against overbet he would have hard time to call with hands like QQ, KK or A2.
