Hi Ivan
Can you do me a favour?
I'm speaking with Cory Mikesell in another video thread. (He's playing high stakes HUSNG's.) And the query involves that game structure though he's more of a cash game player.
Can you answer the q/give me some ideas to think about the issue in a better way: how does the length of time/the number of hands you get per blind level effect your strategy/decisions/play?
(I know it's a straightforward q but I've never quite understood mtt's/sng's fully.)
Thanks
Hi Ralph,
Imo you should aim to make the most profitable decision in each hand and factors such as length of time/blind lvl don't make any change to pf/post ranges and thus shouldn't have an effect on your strategy.
Great series. At 3:10 I do understand the reasoning behind the fold and the pio sim, but are you playing this hand the same way with same stacks but no icm?
Crappy way to bust. Looking forward to your next video.
Ty. I was playing the hand in that manner solely because of ICM. As for the sim, it was a simplified one as I didn't allow for smaller sizings for OOP ott (which I assume would mostly get used) because I only wanted to focus on my decisions in the hand, not how the spot should be played.
6:30+ the range construction for BS on BB vs your BU open I think is just super off in your assumptions -> who is 3b/calling off KQo or AJo -> these are jams. Imo his value part would be more like 99/TT AKo/AQo AQs AJs and then probably decent amount of offsuited garbage
Hi Jan, I agree most players would have a range closer to that one. I was merely adjusting from the ICMIZER range to a slightly closer one to reality at the moment mainly trying to point out what is important for 4bSH which is fe. Hence why I showed a few different value-bluff ratios for BB.

Thanks Ivan. Makes sense.
What's your competency in plo mtt's? (What's your confidence level like?)
None. I don't play PLO at all :D

First of all thx for the vid!

AJ hand is an eye opener for me. Had no idea that ICM would have such a massive impact here OTF nad OTT. Thx for that one!
