Really? Did you really have to tell me 3 times about France? It was already painful enough.

Sad face from the Netherlands (yes, they did not qualify).

I like to see more live play videos but I think you could have improved the speed a lot. I watched 33 minutes but I think it could have been summarized in 2 minutes (no offense).

Hand 1: when people normally raise big and now small they are capped, on flops they dont pay attention to betsize so you can lead paired boards small as a bluff and get too many folds. When they bet quick and acting strong when betting/raising they are often weak so you can bluff them.

Hand 2: nit leads 4 way on a low 2tone board, often some protection and very strong value, when they pot the turn its the nuts so dont hesitate to fold AA.

Just meaning it as feedback, I will experiment with leading paired boards a bit when I play live again and see how it goes. Do you think it will work for 2/5 too? I guess people might be more sticky. Thanks

Thanks for your feedbacks
Yes it works in 2/5 too. A recreationnal player is a recreationnal player, in 25/50 it's often just a richer recreationnal player :)

Great video Yoh please make more of these. Loved the little tips on live poker, like not snap calling.

Question for you: I've been using a strategy lately in lower-mid stakes live poker where I snap act every time I know what to do. Not thinking at all. Pre-planning next streets action. I feel like it works well against live player, constantly putting the clock on them so to speak. What do you think about this strategy? do you ever use it?

Thanks !
I did it might to like it because it makes do some additionals mistakes from your opponents that will want to play faster as well or will tilt more. I didn't continue because I was starting to do mistakes as well snaping all decisions, you cannot check for a lot of tells as well using that strategy.

Have to agree with IMURMOMMY about the second hand. I think you nailed the thought process of a recreational player well. I feel like they lead small with the thought that they're hoping to get raised. When that doesn't happen and there is a flush draw on the turn the thought process becomes "oh shit, he's going to have to pay big time to make his flush because I'm not going to take a disgusting beat with this hand" hence the sizing up.

Good video! Looking forward to the rest of the series. What do you think about raising larger with a lot of recs at the table even when there isn't antes?

YoH_ViraL 6 years, 7 months ago

In smaller stakes definetely rasing 5 to 15x depending of the profiles on your table preflop is the best option. On higher stakes when recs buy in for the minimum at the table it means that they will play tighter than they usually do so I induce them to play more hands mostly min rasing pre. Second good point it allows you to have large stack to pot ratio postflop and to be very loose preflop.

This is a great concept for a video and I think you explain the thought process of live recreational players very well. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

As a constructive criticism, you could be more concise. Also, the graphic of you was blocking the action in both hands, so you could try and fix that.

But overall, great video.

Agree that this video started off with a lot of potential and turned out to be mostly long-winded. I mean we are a RIO audience, not contemplating our first visit to a live cash game. Feedback for Yoh would be quantity over quality for next time, so we can actually get to see some more of your bag of tricks. Keep it to no more than 5 minutes max per exploit with a preference more towards 3.

There is no such thing as wasting time if you're trying to get better at something. I've literally watched a mongoose battle a King Cobra on the National Geographic channel for over thirty minutes.

Gotta agree with other comments. If you had rehearsed a little bit or make a trial recording, the vid would have been much smoother, your ideas would have been much more organized and you would have got to the point much quicker, therefore showing more content in less time.

Overall, didn't like too much the way you organized the video but I liked a lot some analysis/insights into live recs thinking processes. Especially the second hand, where I could hear my little ego whispering into my ear: "I am at the top of my range, he could have bla bla bla, I don't block bla bla bla... I'm not folding!", whereas in reality the elder gentleman with the cowboy hat prob has nuts+ :D
