I really like the concept here of reviewing hands that we've already studied. I'm also really enjoying the variety, which I wasn't sure whether I would starting out. About halfway through but will for sure come back through the rest.
Really liked the topics discussed in the K933-9976 Bvb spot and was pretty amused about villain hand shown when we have A775 vUTG :p
I guess to add an interactive element to this comment. How much does getting shown the KJ86tri in a XXX line UTGvBB on Q3893 sway your decision to go off GTO vs players of this type? (Hand @~11:00)
re: the KJ86 I don't think I'll adjust necessarily with my bluffs in x down pots with his range being wide. But I'll definitely make a mental note of him having a wider range because it impacts decisions on turns especially in spots where IP misses a C-Bet. If IP ranges are super AA heavy we tend to care less about weak showdown value and see it more as a blockers to go for bluffs with, whereas vs more wider ranges we tend to just check those types of hands to try to get to showdown. It's also very good to make a note on that for preflop play. If someone is playing short but playing a lot of hands preflop that's a huge mistake that we should capitalize on by 3-betting more.
8:25 "JTT7" best for raising? I think that blocking the turn draws would be more important than the flop draws themselves since the villain's continue will need some GS or OESD to continue
I don't know if you've looked at other similar combos like this about c-bet or x, but apparently it takes the combos with less equity, especially those with pocket pairs together, and uses it for c-bet and the best ones for x/call, which makes a lot of sense. , since we don't want to play xx with a combo like "K933" and see several turns that remove our equity on a board like 979ss.
That's an interesting point! I haven't looked at more of these spots yet but I'll keep that in mind when I get time to go back to them in the future. The way I was thinking was that we don't want to start betting these hands a lot OOP because we don't really want to play a big pot OOP with a hand like this. Kind of extrapolating since we also check back these types of hands IP as we don't want to necessarily get x/r'd and play a big pot. Of course IP and OOP play super different so it's good to double check these things as you can be way off without realizing as I was here!
9:45 you mention that our hand isn't strong enough to bet with just the gutter. However, isn't this the type of hand we want to bet because we can fold out better and set up a potential river bluff vs a somewhat capped range?
If we do check, i can't see us being able to call. So do we hope he checks back so we can realize our eq with the gutter or do we run a somewhat crazy xr with what seem to be bad blockers?
33:30 so is the bet on the turn a value/protection bet or is it a bluff that you will follow through with on many rivers?
37:00 if the river bricks are you turning the j into a bluff?
