13:00 you talked about wanting to xc with mid sets with no extra eq and xr when they have it. Wouldn't we want to xr with no extra eq on wetter boards in order to get more value and from the draws that are out and "protect" our hand?
However you also said that dry middle sets that unblock draws want to xr as they have worse playability which sort goes with my theory above.
Do we ever xc dry sets on wet boards to "draw" to a safe turn card then apply pressure? This is a concept that is used a fair bit in plo8/big o.
Heya good question it's important to get these things right because they happen so often.
So it's basically exactly like you said at the end where we x/c the dry sets on wet boards to 'draw' to safe turn cards after which we pump in the money. There is a limit of course, sometimes SPR is super high because we are very deep and we end up x/c the turn with a set as well but the vast majority of the time when we are talking about playing 100BB deep you're just going to ram it in on the turn if they bet again on a brick.
The answer is going to be the same as what we talked about before if you remember https://www.runitonce.com/poker-training/videos/horseofhell-hand-review-4/ on this video you asked a very similar question. So very important to remember that often the classic idea of 'protection' doesn't work in the way that you might expect it does in these large SPR single raised pot spots.
Yeah sometimes with certain concepts I will have trouble grasping them so I end up asking similar questions for a different hand. Certain things spin me in circles. Suit dynamics do it to me in holdem so I have probably asked Luke Johnson the same questions over and over hoping to make the light bulb go on. :)
