Sam uses PIO Solver to review the more questionable postflop spots he came across in various high stakes WCOOP hands.

Hey Sam! Really enjoy your videos. Hand #1: Pio likes the bigger sizing on the flop, which is what you clicked for future streets, however in game you chose the 1/3 sizing. Does this affect how Pio plays the turn?

Yes indeed. Afterwards I was a little annoyed at myself, because I actually did the solve for the smaller sizing aswell and kept it saved. It was an even better river bluff with the smaller sizing. I assume this is cos we keep them even wider on the flop.

Hi Sam ! Thanks for the vid ! On the first hand, i was using the same strategy as yours betting all of my range on the flop and increase my sizing on the turn and polarize myself. It's very interessing that Pio suggests a totally different one and bets 3/4rd pot. Do we lose a lot of EV doing that small cbet compared to the optimal strategy and is vilain more likely to missplay v a 1/3rd sizing or not ? He maybe has to c/r 5% against this siz, i'm not sure of that and i don't see people check raising that board even at a small frequency. On the river, i think that we have the impression that Pio is bluffing too much because it doesn't bluff 100% of the time with those hands on the previous streets (you can tick the case "square size proportionnal to weight" to see the weight of the hands i think it's this square!)

Comparing the EV of alternative strategies and seeing if the difference is of 'game time' significance is certainly one of the ways I should be utilising PIO in these vids. Sauce did a great video on this topic, looking at different cbet strategies and simplifying his approach. I'll certainly seek to include that type of analysis as I become more comfortable with the software. Making square sizes proportional to weight of the hands would also be useful for clarity. Thanks for posting, this type of interaction with players familiar with PIO is a great help.

Hand 2, your PIO input says you're calling AQo 10 percent of time. Of the other 90, how much are you folding and how much 4-betting?

Sam Grafton 8 years, 5 months ago

Probably shouldn't be weighting it so low, as I did want the range to represent the player pool rather than me specifically. However, in general, in this spot that will be my four-bet fold hand. Against this type of opponent folding more often than i'm four-betting.

Hey Sam! I hope it is not too late.. ;)
On the first hand I was quite suprised PIO suggest to checkback as much as 76,62%. Then i saw (at least it seems like) you input OOP range as he would have 100% of his top range. Don't you think he would raise some of these or even limp/raise? This could change your cbetting strategy a bit.
Anyway great video!

Good spot! This is a mistake on my part, for which I apologise. Thankfully it won't make a difference to the way we play 53hh, but as you point out, it will certainly increase our cbet frequency and the number of combos we can bluff with.
