timestamp 5:40,

if you know villian is not going to fold Tx or 6x to this ~75% cbet, how should we change our strategy on this flop?

squee451 6 years, 10 months ago

I'm betting we just barrel off all cards over a 6 if he calls all 6x and tx here as his get to river range is super weak at this point. If he never folds these hands by river we probably don't use this size I'd guess.

27:37 - 34 BB deep eff, with 77 vs the 3.25x 3b, is his range too tight for us to 4b jam? What percent of hands do you think he 3bets here?

SoundSpeed 6 years, 11 months ago

Last hand with 77 should opponent just jam 30bb in pre rather than 3bet a smaller amount?

And the pacing of your vids is very good. Keep up the detailed analysis and pio stuff. It's all very beneficial.

Don't you think it might make some sense to have a small sizing as an exploit with hands that need protection vs an unknown?
If yes, how far down your range would you go?

The last hand with 77... I was surprised that you think villain should check/raise flop here with 77 as this is not something I ever do. I agree that when 77 ck/raises it will have fine equity against button jamming range, but I think 77 performs better by keeping worse hands in and realizing a lot of equity. Additionally, a GTO button should not be c-betting all over card combos making protection less important than on a high frequency c-bet board.

Thanks for the videos, always my favorite to watch.

Hi Daniel,

I quickly ran the 68o hand thru Pio with very rough preflop assumptions and it has us almost never leading the turn. Since we are leading or x/r so often with our 5x and 7x on the flop, our x/c 33% pot range is quite weak. On the turn, we have a small concentration of straights and 2 pr (6%) but lots of high cards, gutters, and 3rd/4th pair. IP has more overpairs, top pairs, and nut draws.

Especially with the straight, the lead seems bad since we want to keep in hands with little to no equity.

Thanks for the continued quality content.

Thinking about the hand more, I agree completely. I think as an exploit I can lead some turned 9x for some value/protection but I agree that we don't really lead and especially shouldn't lead our hand.

As an aside - did you only allow 33% pot c-bet on the flop? I don't think it's used very much if there is an option to get bigger. I think the c-bet size might be somewhat telling of the strength of his hand.
