Really like the format Stevie, very interesting all those different spots with the nash calculator. I would certainly like to see more videos with the calculator from you as you mentioned in the video. Thanks

its really hard to keep up with what hands you are talking about after checking them with holdem resources, need visual reference of certain spots

Very cool video. Would be nice to see some more calculations with FGS (Future game simulation) and how it works with some more examples

hey stevie, so glad to see a live vid from you, i do agree with the above comments tho. this vid would have been perfect if u didnt have the calc up for most of it - made following quite difficult i found myself skipping back a number of times.

anyway was awesome none the less, more live mtts from u please!

Would love too see a video where u only use holdem ressources in different spots like you talked about! Great idea and great vid! Keep it up!

Yeah, +1 for Holdem Resources vid. Would be more than welcome.

Last autumn I tried to run some 4-bet shoving simulations with no luck. What I wanted to do was to paste a hand and see what hands I could profitably ship in, given I assign villain a certain 3-b range. (Can Holdem Resources do this? I also tried to modify stack sizes of the given hand a bit to see how it would affect our ranges, can you show how to do this also?)

HEresources doesn't do 4bet math but if you tweak the stacks and positions and raise size you can figure it out with the 3bet tool. If you give me a HH I'll include my method for this in the video. As for modifying stack sizes, just adjust them manually after you paste the hand but before you run the sim.

Nice Video.  Watching it now.  Question regarding the 78ss hand in the Hyper Turbo where you had 2BB's in the SB with the heavy chip leader in the BB.  You said that you ran future game scenarios where it is a shove because he has some incentive to fold some hands given the stack setup and future game bubble pwnage.  In straight ICM you said it's a fold because it assumes he is calling 100%.

What about completing the SB with the majority of your range in this spot rather than shoving?  There would seem to be a lot of good outcomes for you in this scenario if the BB is observant of the situation and you would often realize your equity without the risk of your stack.  Seems like it would be beneficial for him to check down a lot of hands even if he did in fact feel he had you beat.  Leaving you with 1BB is probably more beneficial to him than stacking you in this spot. BTW, I'm not implying we check down our entire completing range postflop.  I'm just saying that I think the chip leader has less incentive to bluff us/and or try and thin value us in this situation and would probably be happy to check down a lot of hands.

Also, sorry to add late but a lot of my above post was assuming the majority of players in the BB are still calling a shove from the SB much wider than the FGS ranges you came up with from your work in Holdem Resources.  If some Regs are starting to go more so by those ranges than the close to 100% which I think you see more often in the todays game then I think the correct adjustment it to shove the majority if not all of your range in this spot.  Ex.  60 to 65% calling range you got from the FGS in the simulator.  In practice I don't see the majority calling that tight at my limits.  I still think completing has some merits.  Let me know what you think, Thanks.

Hey cneuy, great question. It's something I haven't given much thought to but I could definitely see it being better than shoving if our opponent is calling 100% but checking down non-zero vs a limp. Would make for some bizarre post-flop spots with a 0.5spr but I can't immediately think of a reason why it would be incorrect.

Awesome video, Stephen.  I have a question for you.

Often jamming from LP for 15-18 big blinds eff might net us say, 0.25-0.50 bbs with a bunch of hands.  When you plug in raise/folding these hands with reasonable reshove ranges, it's often only slightly less profitable to say 2.2x/fold or even 3x/fold (mixed with some raise/calls ofc).  If we're netting slightly less but get to risk 3 big blinds as opposed to 18 big blinds, how would you go about comparing the two strategies?

You were shoving wider than I would have anticipated pre-ante in the $700 SNG and I was thinking that developing 3x/call and 3x/fold ranges that might net slightly less but with significantly less risk could be worth considering.

Thanks for your time!

Hey msusyr, glad you liked it and thanks for the question. I was jamming wider in the step 5 because the payout structure is so flat that everyone is very disincentivized to call shoves. I do have r/c and r/f ranges with these stacks but most of my opening range is going to be all-in to take advantage of the ICM leverage.

14:28 the 44 hand
How does the range look like for all our options here?
And how deep does the bb have to be here for you not to open rip?
And is this how you play 44 here for any sng/mtt format or its just here cause payout is so flat and they call tighter?
