I guess I need to do some where in the middle of these two ranges
22+, AT+, KQ+, 54s+, 86s+, Q9s+, K7s+, A2s+
I think this range vs UTG should suffice a bit better for my skill level, where i'm not just check folding 60% of flops.
KJo I would defend about 50% of the time. It's mixed at equilibrium. You have to take rake into consideration.
I don't actually know vs 3x because it is not a size a solver would ever open with. I would generally just take the 2.5x range and tighten up the defence ranges.
Great Vid as always Henry, But i dunno...... yea Stars has great SW for vids.... but i would kinda like to see some play on these other sites you prefer to play on.
Producing videos of gameplay on other sites is not going to be as attractive to most viewers in my opinion. The software will be less attractive, the quality of play from my opponent's will be worse and the overall thought process and thus strategies implemented will be simpler resulting in less being learnt from the viewer.
I believe other video makers have tried uploading content from other sites previously and the feedback is generally less positive than gameplay produced on pokerstars.
If you are worried that I am not playing these games frequently thus cannot determine if I am winning in these pools then be confident in knowing I am currently grinding 4-5k hands a day on Stars because I have been given a rakeback challenge and have been successful in my results over the last 75k hands.
Henry Lister I've seen a few videos on ignition being made with a lot of good feed back given. The only issue is the bet sizing is unclear, as the font is really small. The new coach Tariq has been making videos on there and of course Tyler, which is his usual site. Other sites other than stars appears to a lot of Americans who don't have access to stars.
Hey Henry I really enjoy your content and it had me thinking about constructing some of my bluffing ranges in a better fashion. One question I had is that sometimes when discussing ranges you talk about ideal bluffing hands that fold out the highest frequency of the opponents range. I am thinking of the Qs3h6h5dKd board where you raise set of sixes on flop. You say your ideal bluffing range would not involve hearts but are you realistically looking at this board with A4s (besides with backdoor spades) and check raising the flop. or continuing with many other hands that have a 4 on the flop for ex J4s etcc. no heart. For me the only clear bluffing hand I am seeing in my construction would be 45 no heart. This is a hand i would clearly raise blocks a set of 5s and fits the mold well for me. This is clearly leaving me thin on my value to bluff ratio so i add in heart draws sporadically cause i just do not see myself continuing on this board with 78 no heart on flop. Is that a mistake I do not really understand how 78 on this board oop can be a profitable checkraise. I am a 100nl grinder and mainly my winrate comes from exploitative play vs fish so please tell me if this is an error in my strategy.
My most obvious bluffs that follow through here will be the missed straight draws (any 4x, any 7x) ideally without a heart. I think this gives me enough bluffs given I will check raise raise the flop with a variety of backdoor hands vs a depolarised merged continuation bet on the flop.
Really enjoyed this video Henry. I know you said you prefer using a smaller sizing on a lot of flops as you think population will overfold and under check raise. I would say the same thing is applicable for my player pool at lower stakes. However from my experience population also plays poorly on many turns including probing way too merged and overbluffing. Do you think the EV you gain from using range bets on many boards is greater than forcing players to develop a probing range on the turn where they will also make many mistakes?
Hi Rgrubz, good question. I'm not sure which is going to be better. What I do know is that the range betting strategy is very profitable and easy and fast to do meaning that I can have a high EV strategy that is also easy to replicate and makes each hand quicker on average thus allowing for more hands/hour, thus maximising my hourly.
1) I prefer 4 betting hands that have as good blockers with better postflop capabilities - 4 bet calling off ak-qq+, 4 bet folding AQs, KQs, KJs, A5-A4s (mixed)
2) A9s is just a weak hand to call MPvCO 3 bet because you are dominated on boards where you get barrelled heavy into (A high boards) and struggle to flop much else aside from a flush draw (no straight draw possibilities). Therefore A9 becomes a pure fold preferring to continue with hands such as A5-A4s as they are as dominated on the top pair but have more possibilities to flop more robust nutted equity (straight draws ontop of the nfdraws).
QTs for this reason becomes a stronger hand to continue with OOP due to it's capabilities to flop more robust equity and ways to win a hand postflop. It's pairs are as domianted as the A9 is flopping top pair but QT has straight possibilities.
Essentially hands that can make a straight and are connected have much more playability allowing us to favour them more when defending OOP. QT would be defended around 20% of the time here preflop and folded the remainder.
Varies alot. In the past 2 years my volume has moved around from playing heavily on stars (currently playing there as I have a rakeback promotion), apps, other sites, and live poker. I don't have one fixed place that I grind my volume.
Stars just give it to me, a few other regulars got it also. I think it's them trying to get us to play more volume on their site
It varies alot. Generally the pool is pretty decent. I would say the pool is made up of 50% recreationals, 10% whales, and 30% weaker regulars and 10% stronger regulars. The downfall is rakeback is just so dire if you have a decent winrate with high volume (stars chests give me sub 0.5% rakeback consistently) meaning It's very hard for me to justify grinding stars as my main games outside of promotions.
Yeah, rakeback is almost a joke but pool has been really great since quite sometime...i asked because i play a little bit of volume on bodog and when the lockdown finishes all over the world i might move almost all my volume there.
Not sure how traffic will be affected when we get back to "normal life" though
Thanks for your point of view!

19:34 utg rif 2.5, hero folds KJo bb can you talk about what your bb defense range looks like here?
for me it's usually 22+, AT+, KJ+, QJ+, A2s+, K2s+, Q8s+, J7s+, T7s+, 54s+, 64s+.
Edit: I double checked on snowie for range in the BB vs utg 2.5 and UTG 3bb RFI. I think the 3bb rfi is closer to the range you are using.
BB vs UTG 3bb
22+, AJ+, KQ+, 54s+, J9s+, QTs+, K9s+, A2s+

I hope his helps explain my reasons.

I have over 20 other videos dedicated to 200 zoom. If you don't enjoy watching higher stakes please watch those.
Give this man Elite. Best and most helpful videos in rio for me, thanks!
Thanks for the kind words!
Hello there!
11:48 AQo: Even with the rake consideration, why fold there? I mean with what hands are we gonna 4bet here?
34:07: You folded earlier vs a CO 3bet with A9s from MP, but you said it was close to call a 3bet from CO when you were UTG with QTs. Why so?
Thank you.

You have several times mentioned that you don't play to much on Stars. Were do you play mostly? (When you play online)
App based sites?

Nice vid Henry! Not a great run though :(
-How did you get the rakeback promotion? Did it just popped up out of stars or is it a deal you got elsewhere?
-What's your opinion on today's games? Specially z200
Thanks Zache
