In the first hand you mentioned that you think villain may be betting too many Kx or bluffs on the turn. If you were to node lock his turn betting range do you think the raise frequency would go up significantly for your hand/range or do you still want to be mostly calling because most of the Qx you have is weak?

Peter Clarke 5 years, 1 month ago

I doubt there'd be much of a reason to raise here even if he is too merged and too bluff-heavy. We still have a nut disadvantage when it comes to the very best hands so I don't see a reason to widen the raising range even after making these kind of assumptions.

Good stuff,on 30:50 i see u arent 4betting AKo,TT-QQ that much, are u building a flatting range in those positions aswell, and why if so? Is it cuz u dominate some of his squeeze range?

Peter Clarke 5 years, 1 month ago

This range isn't perfect for the situation as it was am UTG vs HJ 4-Bet range as opposed to a cold 4-bet range. My actual range should be more linear than this probably, but the essence of the post-flop will stay the same.

SB UO RFI this range is standard to fold Q2-Q3s? i got this range to be 42.7% al the half marked in PIo i guess means its 50% open freq?

Peter Clarke 5 years, 1 month ago

In the solves I've done more recently with rake structure accounted for, all Qxs is an open in SB. Not much EV in it, but yeah should be fine. This PIO sim was an older range.

great video!
Do you plan to move up in stakes, you are probably very comfortable on 100NL?

Peter Clarke 5 years, 1 month ago

I'm not playing any real volume at the moment. Right now, my work time is completely filled with coaching, writing and creating training content. If I go back to something closer to full time grinding, it's very likely that 200NL would be my main game. I think there's a lack of 100NL and lower training on this site, so tend to make my videos there.

I really liked this video Peter! As a mixed games player i try to Get better at NLHE. Lately i have played around with simple GTO solver. What are The basics for when to choose a big sizing or small one on different boards in your opinion? This is something i really struggle with.

great vid. Love this format. Just for non english native speaker, you speak very fast being hard to follow.

Peter Clarke 5 years, 1 month ago

Got it. I naturally speak very fast, but you're not the first person to mention that it can be hard to understand. I'll try to slow down a little in my videos this year.

Hi Peter, needless to say, another great video, I love the curiosity you have about the game, really impressive

I’d like you to ask a kinda personal question, if you don’t want to reply that’s fair obv.
What are your plans for your poker career? It seems you have crushed NL50 and I guess you do pretty good at NL100. Do you plan to move up or maybe you have found your sweet spot where you are very comfortable playing NL100 and get a great amount of coaching hours?

Peter Clarke 5 years, 1 month ago

My plans for my poker career are currently to maximise the business side of it as the hourly of doing that is a lot better than that of grinding volume. As I said above, I am mainly a professional coach/writer who plays a little rather than a professional player who coaches/writes a little.

Nice format! Thats a good way to study or brush of some rust when you haven’t played for long imo!

A bit of constructive feedback;
I think when you go ovr the hands in PIO it would be interesting if you went over each players equity on the flop before any action is made. Maybe also look at range composition in the “range explorer” to see how ranges interact in terms of nut advantages etc.

For example in the first hand (SRP BvB on KQx) When ranges are wide I would not be surprised if equities are running pretty close. That combined with that we are OOP is probably why we are checking a lot.

Just a good way to better understand why some patterns occur imo. And that’s whatwe are most interested in when we are studying with PIO.

This was one of my favourite videos, and the PIO being used on tough spots is really productive.

The AQ 4 bet vs button squeeze. If the 1/3rd pot bet is called on the J9X flop, what are we doing on a turn that isn't an A or Q?

I think you only have around 1/2pott sized bet left.
