In the end trial I was unable to recall the exact difference in cb%. The original was 67% and the BB vs BTN run was 57%.. so not almost the same like I may have said in the video.
I also mention the difference in x/r %. My best guess now is that the OOP x/r less against the lower cb% simply because that cb range should be slightly stronger.
I think the bb will x/r flop vs btn cbet at lower freq than vs hj cbet because bb range is generally weaker here (bb much more likely to 3b KQcc and 1010 pre vs a btn steal)
Paul,
About betting 6x on the turn and checking Tx, I can only imagine that it's because OOP called w/ T4s-T9s and T8o-T9o at some frequencies. IP's only Tx hands are JTs+, which dominate that part of OOPs range and don't need protection from it. On the other hand, I feel like 6x is being used here as a semi-bluff, since it blocks T6s, to attack that part of OOP's range. The 6c also blocks A6, K6 and Q6 of clubs, which would never fold to a turn barrel. Please let me know if this makes sense or not.
As for why it chooses hearts over spades or diamonds, I don't even have an inkling of an idea.

Couldn't you make the same argument for 6x (IP only has a few, OOP has a decent amount more)? Or am I misunderstanding what you're saying?
Also not sure if we want to block the 6c because that would block portions of his range from which we can extract value OTT when we're betting 6x.
There might be something bigger that we're not considering.
There are likely some nuanced blocking effects in play here and parts of what you're saying are probably true. There's inherent difficult in making PIO videos because it is often a struggle to interpret quantitative results into something that we can qualitatively internalize.
I really enjoyed this video, it was really interesting to see you reviewing the spot and reviewing it with pio afterwards. You could probably upload one of these videos once in a while and just alternate between theory videos and live play videos or something. Keep up the good work!
I'll make more of these type in the future. I'm always unsure of whether or not viewers would enjoy something like this when, as I mentioned in a comment above, I myself am at times unsure of what the results mean. That being said, I feel that there is also some value to being able to watch these videos and figuring things out "with" me.
Does make sense with a club blocker less likely hes flushing so hes got more chance of a value range on the river. I might have to buy me that pio solver thats a pretty good tool. I think doing 3b pots from different position on the same board textures would be interesting. Thats where i get in tricky tough spots.
This is really a good video for players who are new to playing balanced.
When pio says i should bet a specific hand 75% time, how do i actually randomize that when i am playing. Do i download a software and use it for randomizing.
Are you familiar with Card Runner EV? Would you consider doing a similar video with CRev?

It's worth noting that you are unlikely to require to play as complicated/mixed strategy as PIO often suggests (it is often the deviations that maximize our EV). There are probably plenty of ways you can simplify frequencies in general. PIO itself has 'node locking'.
I do use a RNG throughout my play though, and you should be able to find a free software on the web.

I am familiar with CREV though I haven't used it regularly in a while.
Paul, this is so far my range defending BB by calling vs HJ. I realize this is a lot tighter (16.5% vs 40%) than what you assigned in the video. Is it a big leak? What percentage interval do you think is more reasonable at nl25/50? My main reason for defending tight is oop and reverse implied odds / domination. Plz advise on this. And how do u value marginal hands differently like k8s vs 75s (both opening and defending) which one comes first? Thx for taking the time.
I think this range is definitely far too tight. Obviously our range changes depending on opening size, but this is too tight for any realistic size. You're probably foregoing a fair bit of EV. I get that marginal hands create difficult situations. However, our goal should be to maximize EV, not make our decisions easy.
Could you help me out please with a BB calling range versus a 2.5x open from the UTG and CUTOFF?
I am transitioning from fix limit to no limit and I'd like to do some work in PIO myself, but I don't know the correct blind defense ranges vs UTG and Cutoff. I know versus the MP from your video, and from another PIO video versus the button call ranges.
Great video as always man.
I'm very very late to the party but I was thinking, you know how you say you were surprised that the Ax of club combos bet the river in the first hand where you had 44? Could it be that, because you are expected to bet Ax of clubs at a very high frequency on that turn, the blocker effect is made redundant? I would assume that the blocker effect would only be valid if they were in your checking range. This means that the unpaired Ax of club combos unblock your A high checkbacks that will fold to the river bet, which slightly increases the EV of bluffing them. At least this is what makes sense to me.

J, I completely agree.

Paul, u got any idea why PIO bets 6x on turn yet? Thx
I wish I could say I did.
