Great video, more 5 card content please!

Well done for calling out GG on their false advertising, which imo is bordering on being a scam. Absolutely sure that they are aware they are reeling players in with their advertising of 50% RB, which turns out to be as low as 5%.

Yes, it’s highly unethical to not disclose the real rakeback to the players and keep on advertising with percentages that probably only very few recreational players are really receiving.

How profitable can 500 PLO5 be on GG when getting almost no rakeback?

Alien Slayer 3 years, 1 month ago

it requires good table selection for sure, the rake is just cutting so much into the winrate . It's probably also a good idea to turn of run it multiple times to avoid raked split pots.

That sounds like very good advice. I was just wondering how much winrate a good player is able to make at 500 PLO5 after the atrocious rake+minimal rakeback.

Alien Slayer 3 years, 1 month ago

really difficult to assess since it's difficult to review hands in a tracker and to know how much of the results are variance . but given that the rake is easily over 10bb/100 i could assume that very few players are actually archieving a decent winrate.

disclaimer: I rarely play these games anymore for the same reasons .

I'm new to PLO (NL player) and am currently working my way through PLO videos. Would it be a mistake to try to concurrently learn PLO5 while learning PLO4?

Alien Slayer 3 years, 1 month ago

well, it could get confusing at times since you need to learn 2 different sets of preflop ranges and evaluate properly your handstrenght postflop . I would recommend to choose one game and focus on it for a couple of month before jumping into the other variant.
