In my experience of watching Gary, there are not many spots he DOESN'T NAIL! What time stamp are you referring to?
edit: 25min. Definitely a spot people tend to go for it too much with no sdv but have negative blockers as Gary Chappell said with the KcJx in his hand blocking some flush draws that call-call-fold and some pair + gutters like J9s. Gary is a master though!
2 min T#2 open MP 2bb, btn calls, sb squeeze to 11bb. You are 192bb effective. I thought all PPs would be called at this stack depth? Do you mind discussing your continue range here? I'm opening and calling down as wide as 44 here a long with some SCs.
For the run it twice / three times options do you not run it multiple times because of the rake, lower stakes, or some other reason? I noticed when you have 22 for the splash pot on 432 vs KK you ran it once. Then you got KK all in preflop vs AK and ran it twice... How are you making these decisions?
In these softer environments I am curious why you don't open all PP and SCs from EP as well as MP? Is the variance that much higher opening in EP compared to MP? I am thinking lower 3bet %. I am not sure how much more often you get 3 bet with 5 players behind compared to 4 players behind. Curious if it the extra variance is worth the brain energy of leaving money on the table? What kind of vpip / pfr / 3 bet are you looking to have for these softer games? Sorry kind of a vague question I know. I am just wondering because of the preflop rake if tighter strategy is better or because softer player pool if wider preflop range is better and ignore the rake?
Also enjoying the video and would like to keep seeing a mix of 200NL / 500NL games across different sites. Some times a pure theory based approached on 500z with a splash of exploit is not as educational for people player in softer games where the sizes are not as robotic as they are on 500z. Where you face more 3x or 4x opens compared to 2x-2.5x opens on 500z. Can agree to disagree here. I just enjoy a good mix of GG poker and stars for your continued future videos.
You shouldn't call too much vs squeeze when you are in the middle (i.e. the MP/BTN/SB spot you refer too). Because the original caller can still backraise, you don't have position postflop, and you're likely to go 3way so pot share is less. So a 4bet/fold strategy is preferred. Therefore my calling range is quite snug around 88-JJ, suited broadways. Deeper stacked I don't think changes it too much in this scenario. Just leaking money imo.
RIO/RIT really doesn't matter in the long run, just variance. I just do it how I'm feeling, no strategy.
High rake games ranges should be tighter. Check your stats and see what positions/hands you're leaking in. I would be very surprised if 22-55 & SCs are profitable opens EP.
24:40 T#3 with 99 on J32-J board 3BP Co vs SB. This seems to be a big problem area for me. Where I face 1/3 cbet and 3/4 turn against people that seem to just barrel entire range. I feel like I'm being exploited by this 3bet and double barrel line. Have a weird mindset problem with this spot because I feel like when I do make a stand they tend to have TT or QQ in this spot and when I end up folding and check the replay for ignition I see they were just bluffing with KQ. Puts my mind in a blender for anonymous pools.
It's for sure a tough spot when this happens, that's why having a clear plan is important. So with 99 here I'm calling twice to challenge my opponent to find the 3rd barrel, and then I just fold everything on the river that isn't Jx because I know I have tons of Jx in my range here that I don't need to call worse.
At 15 minutes you note that calling the 3b with ATo is very bad. Having seen this, how are you adjusting your preflop and postflop strategies against this player?
On the one hand, playing your normal game against him will win money. On the other hand we can consider some significant changes having seen this.
I had a question that got me thinking in your video
When playing against a weaker field its easier to play/more valuable to 3 bet a polarized range vs a liner range.
Because: When i do get called or 4-bet I am most definitely behind as they are 4-betting or calling the top of their range only so I am left with an easy decision
I can call with my more middling strength holdings and outplay them post-flop where as if I 3-bet these holdings in a linear range I lose all that value if they 4-bet
I feel like that means i can exclusively fold ak off and ak suited even tho i double block aa and kk when my opponent 5 bet jams all in because at these stakes no one has any 5 bet bluffs lol
in my opinion that's not playing good poker and is only going to prevent you from improving your skills/strategy and therefore progressing through the limits.
3betting vs these weaker players is important to isolate them and take control of the pot, and prevent regs squeezing

Good to see some GGPoker on here. I believe the software is the future of poker, and also my software of choice
Enjoyed it a lot thanks Gary. Nice to see the softer player pool tbh and how you navigate it

I'd just be giving more calling weight to hands that are mix folds, and add in some playable hands, eg suited connectors
