Frankie,
Fun video to watch. This was an interesting format in that as you approach the end of the game you are incentivized to try to have the biggest profit and win the side bet. I would tend to agree that the Robl hand at the end of this is a bit surprising. Robl is a very good player with lots of experience playing live deep stack cash. Seems like multi way, especially against players who are sticky, you want to be doing a lot of checking even if this board was not monotone. TT even with a spade feels kind of bad to bet multi way. Enjoyed your analysis on these spots.
Yeah I mean, I’m pure checking this flop multi way about a lot of boards not just this one. We’re out of position with a decent draw, but what are we doing vs a raise?
Think it just plays better as a call
But I’m not Patrick Antonius, he’s a legend and a hall of famer haha
Thanks TrueP! It depends on how the action unfolds. If it goes, x, x, b then I’m less inclined to raise given Persons behind. If it goes x, b, f, I’m a little more inclined to raise folding out random bet/folds. I’d say calling is the general default here though, agree.
Yes but also given it’s not a great river for him he probably concludes a player like Antonius may look him up with most 1 pairs and even some ace highs. It’s a fair thesis assuming that’s what he was thinking. I still like x for the reasons outlined in the video.
River lead doesn’t make a lot of sense so I would never do it with 56. And for reasons your outlining, when faced with large raise, well, life sucks haha.
Hey Frankie, thanks for the video. A minor suggestion - would be nice if you can leave the hand from pre to see the sizings. e.g. you started first hand from the flop which makes it a little hard to follow.
Thanks for the suggestion MX, that makes a lot of sense. I already submitted another live video so sorry when the next one comes out if I did that again.
High VPIP type. Because after taking a polarized line flop, OP will have a fairly strong range (overpairs/flushes) so this would greatly de-incentize betting middling hands quite a bit.
I see -- So the action goes SB 3b pre and cbet flop then IP raising flop I assume.
Would you generally correlate high vpip type with high flop raising freq here especially vs small cbet sizing? -- Just curious how wide the OOP can float after facing a raise.
Also regarding this line -- my conception is that usually people from OOP do not play very well vs IP's aggression when having no position -- and I feel usually they check too much OTR/or 3betting the flop with an imbalanced range (more strong hand heavy and less bluff)
Curious on your thoughts and if IP raising line can be a profitable explo play esp when going deeper (say 150BB+)
More information would be needed on the player to determine that.
I would agree the general player isn't going to play well vs IP raises to cbet but again there would need to be more context in terms of stakes being played, live vs online, player type, board type. Lucky for you, a video coming up soon will go over this very topic :)
32:06 you said XR would be a better option here for Gonzales, are you XR all your 9x here as OOP? Since Gonzales is at straddle in a SRP, I believe he can vpip all suited 9x here.
I’d prob lean towards x/r med to high kicker 9x given Antonio has 9x well within range (why we check a lot) so we would want to reduce putting ourselves into a difficult 3bet spot on river with say 94s. The lower kickers are also unblocking some curious Ax calls and medium pairs that might x back.
Love this format and would love to see more videos analyzing deep stacked live cash games in the future. My only critique would be if you could just show all of the action preflop instead of just guessing what the action was and going straight to postflop. Thanks Frankie!
Thanks for the suggestion, another RIO member mentioned this so I'll be sure to do this next time. Just a heads up though, I have already submitted another live play review were I may have not done this.

Glad you enjoyed it Sevens. Yea, he's a great player, just really against this lead.
Great video Frankie thanks again

yea interesting river lead here,
can we assume that Gonzales trying to get a Q to call here by this bet?

given that we only have 65dd here, are we more inclined to check call the bet vs lead, because if we get raised we kind of hate life again lol

LOL robl just a gangster

Good video nonetheless!

07:07 you mentioned
Curious on what sort of player type you think Rob is and why they are not betting?
