Frankie Carson reviews a high stakes session that starts out HU and slowly fills out the seats with a number of hands where it seems that neither he or his opponent has the goods and it's a race to who can bluff it off first.

Frankie,
The hand at ~30:00 where you have A9o on board of A9Tr turn 9d and river of 5s, you mention that this hand is close between calling and folding but that you are not really folding here. Curious how many better hands you have here? Besides TT, 66 (which gets raised a lot on flop and turn), AT and some 78s (which gets raised a lot on turn), seems like this hand is petty high up in range. I realize that in theory villain is not jamming worse for value, but I think that in practice, like you said villain could be jamming A6 as well as possibly over bluffing. Pretty interesting spot. I am interested in what you think the average player is doing here in terms of value (more value hands or less) and bluffs (over or under)?

Thanks Frankie

In regards to the 'closeness' between calling/folding, I was speaking about theory. While calling the top part of our value range is generally accurate, what becomes more important in these super polar spots is blockers/unblockers as were trying our best to to unblock bluffs and block value. So for instance T8h makes more money calling then our hand has it blocks more value TT/AT/78 > AA/AT (no 78) and slightly less bluffs, albeit we can call the later a wash.

On second part, your exactly right. I think just the idea Vs could be jamming worse, we really don't every want to be folding this hand.

Your last question completely depends on the pool were talking about. I would say in very general terms it would be underbluffed at like 200NL and lower. At 500NL to 1kNL, it's super player dependent.
