Nice video Francesco! Lots of useful thoughts and ideas here.

Personally have gone back and looked at retooling pf after having put little attention into it other than 'playing my ranges/charts' for last couple years. A lot of the change has come from having better study tools and realizing that spots I thought were somewhat close -1 to +1 EV were mainly -10 - -0.5 spots that I was blundering not recognizing the strength of ranges and taking too aggressive of actions or wide calls.

Francesco Lacriola I like these simple concept theory vids a lot. Helps shift mind from trying to blindly replicate solver. Quick question:

If playing in a live game with the following scenarios what would be some general adjustments you would make to preflop GTO charts: a) Time rake (rake doesn't affect preflop ranges), b) 3 blinds, c) Much less 3b/squeezing and many multiway pots

My guess is as follows: Open/3b more linear, reduce sc openings especially from EP, open bigger

Your guess is absolutely correct; I might add you can consider adding a limping range if the game is super passive: you don't want to miss playing small pairs and suited Aces if none is going to punish you with aggressive ISOs.

Very good video! We all try to copy solvers preflop and we're probably missing out on ev because of it. I play the Ignition nl500 environment, it's anonymous. Surely playing "balanced" preflop here is a mistake since no one can see your stats.

What do you think about it?

I apologize for the delay, for some reason I missed this comment before. On anonymous player pools the best strategy is to tailor your ranges according to what are population tendencies. You definitely don't need to play balanced and probably expect under3betting from BB/under4betting in general, therefore being allowed to fold more when you face aggressive preflop actions.

Hi Francesco - this vid is awesome, I feel it's one of the best vids I have watched in the last few weeks. These spots are usually overlooked and we do not think much but following the charts since it's "standard".

Would absolutely love to see you produce something similar along the line but dive deeper -- e.g. 3 betting mechanics preflop BU vs EP & CO or BB flatting/3betting range vs different position from an EV perspective like this one. Those would be great to help us have a solid understanding preflop. Since I think preflop topic is a bit under covered by coaches.

Anyway, thank you for the great video again, I learn a lot!

Did you watch this video? https://www.runitonce.com/poker-training/videos/francesco-lacriola-bb-3-betting-strategies-and-postflop-play/ Here I discussed preflop and postflop mechanics related to BB 3betting. I think BB and the BTN are the most interesting positions to dive deep - BTN is a bit more complex though, as you don't close the action and you can generate multiways/face squeezes, so in general it's best to rely on heuristics and on your "player sensibility".
