25:30 mark, AK hand on AK7 monotone
If we are playing against a regular, what will be the optimal c betting strategy? I think this kind of board is tricky. We have the good hands advantage (Sets and 2 pairs) but I think the BB has the flush advantage? I guess it is more a case if it is UTG vs BB. What about CO/BTN vs BB? If a reg is not playing a leading strategy, should we be cautious on this board? Or we can still get away with a range 1/4 as we still have the range advantage in terms of decent hands? Would like to hear your thought on the c bet strategy on these boards.
Thanks.
The good hands advantage doesn't work, it works only as "nutted hand advantage". BB can have more flushes, but we have position, and position is extremely valuable on monotone boards (also we have the boat advantage if the board pairs and 4 to a flush runouts kinda of level ranges).
We want to check a lot against good players, including made flushes, sets, 2 pairs, pairs and strong flush draws, etc. I like the half pot bet size in general on A + broadway monotone and high frequency checks. Against super fit or fold weak tight players you can consider range betting for 1BB.
3:30 how do you feel about opponents call? It's a pure bluff catcher though he would seem to be somewhat high in his rng as he would be 3 betting pre some of the time with the boat combos. I think it may be better to have a diamond.
13:53 I think his river bluff raise is not so good as his jd blocker isn't the best and he actually blocks our fold rng.
30:25 this was an interesting bluff spot on the river. We do block the straight but we block a lot of their folding rng as well. Seems close.
1) I Don't think it's a spot where you really want to bluffcatch, my strategy is heavily imbalanced starting from the flop as there are two recreational players involved in the hand.
2) Yes, Jd is not really the best bluffing candidate as it's blocking most of my bluffing region and almost 0 valuebets.
3) It's hard to have bluffs that unblock also their folding region here, it's important to block KT. These spots tend to be underbluffed by the pool as some of the bluffs have to be combos like mine and some players don't like to ever bluff busted FDs.
