In today's video, Francesco Lacriola records a themed hand history review evolving around the topic of threshold hands. He applies the concept to a variety of situations (SRP, 3Bet pot, 4bet pot) and encourages you to think about thresholds while playing.

Hi Francesco,

Great video. 14:50 you show that 2pr can be called or bluff jammed. I struggle with these types of spots where I am unsure which action to take. Is it purely a random number spot or do you take other things into consideration? I agonize over taking what seems to be a higher variance line (bluff jam) over what seems to be a safer line.

How do you like gto wizard?

Thanks!

No, I wouldn't randomize there. Key factors to consider before bluff jamming are:

1) How thin is my opponent going to valuebet? The thinner, the more room for bluffing; if they're very polarized then it's better to play call/fold, as they're never going to fold their valuebets, so either we win against bluffs or lose against valuebets -also pure fold is fine against a polar range if we think we don't win often enough-

2) The bigger the bet size in uncapped scenarios, the more likely villain is extremely polarized and nut heavy (or blocker heavy), so the least effective becomes bluffing.

GTO wizard is ok to have a quick look at some spot and a general idea, but the most effective solver work has to be done by looking for specific things in customized sims.
