GregGT 12 years, 2 months ago04:45: JTs and you called 4bet. It seems to me that we arent deep enough to call here with spr 1,7 on flop. Our hand indeed "pretty", but I think this call is marginal a bit, even when we in position. It's obviously clear that we will get in with monstr-draw or 2pair+, but what do we gonna do on "T32"r flop? or A89r?)
Espen Sørlie12 years, 2 months agoDepends a lot on timing/sizing etc in the moment tbh what boards we are stacking off on. About the preflop call I agree it is marginal but we get good odds and think people will play very honest in 4b pots in general this deep in tournaments, especially when I cover them.
@19:10 w/A4s - What do you think about 3betting here, like 48k? Do you think his 4bet-shoving range is much wider than calling range vs your shove in this ICM spot? I guess he'd have to shove a lot to make 3bet/fold less profitable than shove, and we avoid risking like 1/4 of our stack.
In general in icm spots you should be calling off way tighter than you should be jamming (putting the last bet it). So when we don't really know what sort of 4b jamming/spazzing range he is capable of having I prefer just taking the clearly +ev shove to prevent getting owned/jammed on by QJ, 22-66, KT A9 etc that he has to fold to a jam.
Nice vid - @ 13:05 - You said "people like to check call the river with an over pair rather than just value bet which doesn't make any sense." (not word for word but general point). Why doesn't it make sense to take that line. Where his turn bet is so small won't villain's account for us having double floats in our range e.g. Tx on this board & therefore decide that they can't get called by missed draws but can catch any bluffs that assume we have 2 overs and missed?
