Regarding distractions, I’ve built a script that bans browsers, videogames and so on and it works like a charm. I’ve found that when coming down to distractions, by willpower fades, so I had to find another way to prevent myself to waste time. And yes, it’s very true wiilpower is finite, so there’s no need to spent a finite resource on something that I can automate, it’s much better to spent it on something else

Hey Chris great video

Lol, so when I. Played live in pretty good aboht not checking my phone or anything while I play except when I take a break walk around or grab a drink or something.

Distractions happen waaaay more at home
Tv, Xbox on, the leafs game, poker stream, gf watching a show!
Not to mention on my computer, YouTube, Facebook Instagram, Twitter, all these filler apps which I don’t need to be on while I’m playing poker,

What I’ve been doing of late, if I’m playing online on the weekend, I’ll play for an hour and a half, take a 15 minute break, go eat or drink some food or something, then start playing again. Gives my brain a time to rest or go over things.

At times though, if I find myself in a super interesting spot or if I won or lost a big hand, I’ll re look at the spot at hm3, go over it in wizard, sometimes, I’ll just stop playing so I can analyze the hand right away if i find it that interesting.

I don’t think this process is too detrimental, but maybe it’s taking some focus away from the tables at the moment that I’m playing.

Ahh yes, the goal of quitting the job, to play poker full time.

It’s an ultimate goal of mine and I believe it to be possible. I’m already on a great upswing, just need to be patient and continue to grow the bankroll.

I played a live cash game few weeks ago, talked to this guy, he broke up with his gf, quit his job, and made over 100k playing online poker over the past year. Winning at poker is great, but he talked about the negative impact it had on his relationships, with gf, friends or family it can have. So I think balance is really important here.

Thanks again!
