POSTED Jan 12, 2019

In today's video Chris Pimmer talks about emotional control. After giving a vivid explanation of when people tend to lose their emotional balance in everyday life situations he dives into poker scenarios most of us have encountered but maybe never linked to this subject before.

Awesome video thanks!
The farmer story is soo goood! Ive heard it before actually there is a great animated version of it narrated by Alan Watts on youtube, so cool to hear it here again!

Thank you so much, I know Alan Watts his speech on it, but not the animated video. Alan Watts is the man, such an awesome dude, love him. I think I have not only listened to all of his stuff but also have a few books of his

That was the end of the story... but you could probably go on and on... as always something happens that some thought was bad and the farmer thought nothing of in terms of good or bad.

Excellent videos Chris. I'm finding out as I strive to play professionally that managing oneself through the inevitably brutal downswings is the last major challenge.

Thank you very much discr3tion !
Managing oneself, not only through downswings, is tough in poker and requires a good and healthy approach in order to achieve longevity.

Great video chris!

my run good has finally stopped today lol, i lost 450 in an hour at the casino, got stacked with aa, kk and ak, came home fired up stars had a small win. back at it again soon! trust the process!

But also try to not think about wins and losses so much. Because nothing in your inner life should change based on losing AA vs KK.. you are the same person and you should make decisions in poker based on the probabilities of outcomes that you seek and after that, the actual outcome matters a lot less to not at all

yes, we cant be results oriented like that. also, wins and loses in one session isnt a full result or outlook on ourselves as poker players
