I think K7 may or may not c/r flop, J7 is likely almost always c/r and that's only 2 combos anyways. But the main reason why I left those hands out is that the logic for using a two pair hand as a c/c on the flop in villain's shoes still applies on the turn - in other words if he chose to c/c two pair on the flop the reasons for which he would choose to do that should logically also lead him to c/c the turn as well.
I vote for this format. I would like to see the preflop series again but this overall NLHE hands are the best that came to the site on past few months.
You said on the beginning that flufferd isnt that used to cap games and how it impacts your assumptions ? If was a player that is a cap regular, some of them would be different ?
Daniel Dvoress10 years, 7 months agoWell first if a player is a cap regular I would know their BB vs. BU game fairly well and would make specific adjustments to that player.
Generally speaking for that particular spot, if someone is not a cap regular I expect them to not defend BB enough so I get to open a little wider.
Daniel Dvoress10 years, 7 months agoHmm, something I could potentially do, although I'm not really a HU CAP regular. Theoretically reviewing a few hands shouldn't be a problem though.
Do you think its bad to ever cc flopped two pair here otf in opponents shoes? 4.5bb on the flop with 22bb. After we call cbet otf, 20bb eff. stax with a 9bb pot oop going into the turn. Which seems pretty awkward and not something I would want to be doing to much. But some 77/KJ/K7 maybeeee wont always checkraise? It would be to exploit hero/btn from betting two streets with impunity. The better the btn plays and the better ranges you have the less value it has I guess in terms of slowplaying. But it would severely change the equities in our calculations if this were ever the case and they ever showed up with a few nutted/strong combos. I dont play CAP so could be completely wrong and the value of cr will always exceed potential value of the slowplay.
My only gripe is if you could show the preflop stuff first. So we could try to crunch thru this with you. It wasn't until the 30 minute we saw his defending range preflop, which is pretty important. Apologies if you've reviewed preflop in your other videos.
So first the replayer messes up CAP stack sizes - it's 20bb cap so it's 18bb effective on the flop.
77 isn't in his flop range as it would shove preflop 99%+ of the time. J7 is only 2 combos assuming he doesn't defend J7o, and given how vulnerable it is I think almost always c/r as well. KJ could potentially c/c flop as a slowplay (same with K7), but my logic is that opponents who chose to slowplay the flop are also very likely to continue slowplaying on the turn if they chose to take that line - so while he might get to the turn with those nutty combos they are not very likely to be check/shoving.
You are definitely correct that I should have shown my assumptions for what I open preflop and for what villain defends in the BB at the beginning of the video - that way everyone could have followed along instead of coming up with stuff based on different assumptions then seeing mine and having all that go out the window. Will do next time!
Awesome video as always. Can't say I wouldn't enjoy some live play but agree with you that there is already tons of live content and this format is more informative and educational.
You do a great job and your crev work was educational as well. Nice call and nice river btw :).
Good vid. Minor thing, but overcards+gs include AQ and not just AT for the 7%.
Do you think using the logic if he slowplays the flop then he's likely to slowplay the turn can cost you a lot of money? It seems useful to add in some turn value hands incrementally as well with his very likely bluff hands (maybe 9 hi or lower fd+gs) to see how many slowplayish hand he could have as well
Great video. I think the combination of starting off with a general strategy discussion, such as outlining a 3 street strategy, then really breaking down the ranges and assumptions in a hand really works well.
You outlined a board where our range dominated villains. If villains range dominated the flop would you be more inclined to take a polarized 2 street strategy and create a strong checking range.
not long been up but you say pot bet on flop with K8 leaves a potbet on turn but it doesnt afaics. You will have 1800 left in stack and 1350 in the middle... Just hought I'd mention it :)

Do you think raising j7 and k7 on the flop is way better then cc? Since u exclude those hands from his flop cc range
Nice vid as always(y)

This is the format I enjoy the most. Keep it on Daniel!

Great video, very educational.

PT4 doesn't shot CAP stacks properly - everyone is 20bb effective max.
