hi daniel, i don't understand exactly why, when you change the btn river call frequency at 22:34 to an optimal one (20%), the ev of the BB bluff become 0 but doesn't change the overall ev of the bb (is still 2.11). Is it because the ev of the bet with Ax goes down in a proportional way, or what else? (sorry for the bad english, i hope the question is clear.
Great vid and great series so far! A question whilst I remember. Around 34-35 mins in you talk about villain overbluffing the river and how that even then the ev of a turn value bluff is better marginally. However surely with the check we have the ev of a turn check + the ev of a river bluffcatch so we actually make a hell of a lot more from checking the turn?
So a couple of things are happening here that make that not the case.
1) Your equity is not 100% so he can suck out on you with hands that would for sure fold if you bet.
2) More importantly, your being able to bluffcatch profitably is only good relative to the pot odds you are getting, but not that great in the absolute sense (if you were, let's say making a sidebet on the call with no pot odds). So you have this super profitable call given that you get to that spot with the pot odds you are getting, but getting to that spot isn't that great int he first place, and valuebluffing previously is better.
