It's been a pleasure having you and many of the new coaches added to the RIO team, @DanSmith. Keep it up. Love to see more content like this examining how to improve.
One of the reasons I’m such a big proponent of hand review it forces you to review situations that actually come up. If I make a mistake in a situation ill try to learn the spot as a whole .
Some other thoughts
1 If you are aware of the mistakes you’re making, and you sense a pattern (ie missing flop bets vs small bets… drill that until your weakness is hopefully no longer a weakness
2 how likely is it to come up ie (single raised pots vs bb are super common and a great place to start )
3 Is it costly ; you want to make sure the thing you are studying can make a difference. Certain short stack spots the EV is always going to be in like the hundredth of a big blind so being precise there isn’t really the most efficient use of time .
4 Sometimes I just randomize the positions : stack depths : srp/3b/4b just to force myself to look at things I otherwise might not have. And also I think it does a good job of simulating “real poker”… bc at the table you never know what’s gonna come up

Plz keep making videos lol
Sick format. Great value. More please.
Great stuff Dan. Loving it!
I liked the format. I am guilty myself of trying to study too much when it comes to spots that almost never come up.
Hey Dan another great video my guy thank you!
Like it very much! Thank you Dan!

Dan - how do you plan in terms of finding unstudied spots
