on the second hand (the 7-10 suited) , you said vilain has some weaker 7, but actually your kicker was not in play. I prefer to bet this type of pair when my kicker comes in play. In fact it seems you misread the hand. Am i wrong or i miss something?
Hi Vincent, thank you for the video. Very interesting, as usual. Can you better explain the motivations behind flop cbet sizing in the first hand reviewed (43o)? Ty
I'm really getting a lot out of these vids. They are exactly what I need at the moment. So thankyou very much.
I have a question which is a bit off topic. I am new to HU. I have recently added HU as a way to improve my 6-max skills. I am wondering how many buy-ins for sound bankroll management you'd recommend for Zoom HU 50NL at first but also higher stakes as I hopefully improve? I currently use 40BIs for 6-max.
This kinda depends on what you are personally comfortable with and how much edge you might have, but in general 40bi sounds pretty decent. 10+ buyin swings aren't an exception though, and if you play professionally I would play it safe and go more for something like 80.
In the first hand (43o on AK9r) you use a pot-sized bet due to range advantage. Are there any flops you would overbet? (I ask because PokerSnowie overbets 2xpot in some similar spots eg AK8t Snowie recommends 2xPot CBet with 24% frequency).
Nice video series!! Like the thinking process.
1st hand. Villain could not have Qh10h or Jh9h? You think he will check/raise or stab turn? Those could be hands he would call river with as well, although he would be in a pretty tough spot. But if you have a bluffy/loose image I guess you get called 2 often? What do you think?
Are you going to explain strat for cap games as I notice they get a pool of players at Zoom as large as the uncapped games? And they seem a lot softer.
Secondly, what is typical variance/SD as reported by Pokertracker/HM for HU games both capped and uncapped (so I can calculate bankroll management requirements)?
Hey Vincent,
Awesome video as always! Thanks a lot. Most of your videos are, in my view, more informative than those of many elite coaches.
@23.02 on J53r you say that you would check back otf all 2nd and 3rd pairs. I understand you prefer to bet polarized in general, but spots like these i just cannot understand. It's a super dry and disconnected board, probability that you are beat is prob less than 10%. If you have 85 or Q3, then any random card has 25% equity vs you. Why not c-bet and take the pot down 90% of the time and deny your opponent an equity?
More general question - in which cases you think you should cbet 2nd and 3rd pair?
1st hand. What range would you be triple barrelling here? It seems like a spot that while I agree gives us alot of strong hands villian wont have even if we have just 43o 54o in our bluffing range then we are already overbluffing and ATo has an easy call?
I am un-sure if this comment will get answered due to the video being a few years old.
At 14.30 you said on the river we have much weaker type hands that would check back the river.
Given that its not just Ace high...Do u mean checking back the river in the idea of giving up?
or are we just checking back all our 3's in this spot is what you mean..
What worse hands would we check back the river?
I have a question: if we are going to check behind a flop, usually we never have the top of our range.
What are you going to do if somebody plays super aggressive against us after we check behind the flop? Like in the last hand KcTc3s with K2s; how are we going to defend if somebody check raises big the turn and overbets or shove rivers? I know it is a matter of frequencies, but say somebody knows you never have the top of your range and does it essentially with any 2 cards; are we going to defend the top of our non nut range?

Lol he spent the first 7 minutes of the vid explaining the same concept over and over :D
Watch it again
the 7dTd do u think he ever has a 56 when hes taking this line?

I generally don't overbet flops unless maybe vs some random huge whale, but I'm definitely open to the idea!
nice vid
Loved the first hand :)
you steal range is so wide if you bomb broadway flops with this sizing 100% of the time with your air it will be easy to exploit
No-one said 100% frequency.

I have no experience playing capped games at all. Anything under 100bb feels like gambling to me, haha. Deeper stacks means more edge!
possibly stupid question here - did villain fold river in hand 1? I watched it twice and didn't see or hear results. Thanks Vincent
Meh, u made me read a stupid question :D

Hi,
Nice videos.
What about oop?
What are your check calling ranges? also with medium hands?
Thanks
