that's funny my girlfriend has been saying this lately and i never knew it was a real teaching model. will have to check it out. I like how even after we are all provided with the same information, there's almost infinite levels of purifying that information to get to the most accurate, inclusive decisions. To me that's the real truth behind the "minute to learn, lifetime to master" aspect of the game. It's probably something that's embedded in all games, i'm just bias ;)
NL200 and someone raises the river in the most scary line ever, this video could be done in 2 minutes but we get into 30 minutes of self promotion and fancy words. I have liked some of the videos you have done in the past, but this one was pretty unnecesary sorry.
If that's all you took from the video, you really missed out on a lot. The video wasn't even really about the spot, he was just using it as an example to illustrate exposing student bias and figuring out the difference between the thought processes of student and teacher so you can apply that to other hands and spots. I think he did a really good job on it. I do agree with you that he probably could have summarized it more, but a lot of players, myself included, find a lot of value in his rants as he peels back more and more layers of the onion instead of glossing over it quickly and moving on.
As far as promotion goes, the price of his pio pack/coaching is really nothing in the grand scheme of things for MSNL/HSNL players. 3 buy-ins of 2/4 to learn the concepts he's teaching is like one good session of play. That's a really small investment for guys playing his stakes for the return you will get. Same with $99 for a month of runitonce. Coaching today is a way bigger bargain than people give it credit for and it's a shame that people don't value it more (I'm not a coach). I'll be purchasing his pio pack when I resume poker full time because it's worth way more than what he's selling it for.

When I promote my product, it's to benefit all parties. At high levels of balance, personal interest is not different from collective interest. Where i see value is in challenging individuals to take more personal responsibility, and that's done by minimizing personal bias. My training content is just a catalyst for that, as it relates to the overarching context of this community. If everyone trusted themselves enough to guide that process independently, we wouldn't really need coaches. But for those that see value in speeding that process up, well, there are coaches :)
Benefit all parties because of higher level balance? Not to be a dick but that sounds like a bunch of bs. By helping some students, you are hurting others. If a student improve's their winrate, someone else out there is losing money. Poker is a zerosum game. It's tilting to hear you try to act like you're being altruistic by promoting a coaching package.
It's assumptive to think that training content can't benefit all parties just because we're in a competitive arena. My training model teaches people how to diminish personal bias. Whenever someone does that, civilization advances because it moves closer to balance. Balance is always in the highest benefit of all. You just have to expand your perspective beyond dollar signs to be able to see that.
I haven't played 500z in well over a year, and my game is night and day from then. There's a graph in my blog somewhere for 2knl on the softer sites I play on now.
I've never met Nick, nor ever communicated with him...But I really like how he focuses on thought processes...Too many players try to memorize and parrot... Nick teaches you how to think.. A far superior method and one that will take you further in poker....
We live in the field of thought where we seek security, but thought cannot possibly provide security because thought, is limited. And in that there is no possibility of ever having security, and therefore our brain is always uncertain. So we’ve built a prison in the search for security. We love our prison, or we are unaware of it. And when it is pointed out, all we do is try to accept the words, but we never break the prison. When there is freedom there is intelligence. That intelligence in itself is absolute security, unshakeable. For it depends on nothing, not environment, on a person, or on any kind of ideology.

One of the most impactful training videos I have ever watched, loving your latest content! This is coming from an MTT player btw.
This was a really fucking good video.

By all parties he obviously means him (money) and us (the consumer of his product) by improving our skill at beating the game.

If somebody paid me 5 bucks every time when Nick say ''bias'', I will become millionaire in one week.
great stuff, true not only for poker IMO
What are your win rates at 500 zoom? Sample size?

Can you provide a reliable win rate metric please?
What is your total profit on Pokerstars? Over how many years?
Sorry, not interested in this.
Very nice video(s) i'm really liking this!

This is awesome
Thanks Nick!
