Appreciate the high level mix game content. Great video

For the PLO hand at 59: Common thought mistake here. It's never a disaster to get check raised when you have 0 showdown value + your draws aren't (mostly, 6 nut outs) nutted. I don't expect us to get check raised much on this board as hand like KKxx and AKJ6 would keep betting for value and protection on a board this wet. This type of hand with no showdown value makes a decent bluffing candidate with the biggest downside being no blockers to made hands

I can see betting and checking being good options. I see a lot of value checking these types of combos on turn as river changes a lot. I will get him to bluff more frequently, and play incorrectly against my strong turn check. I also see value in betting with little showdown on brick rivers. So i'd assume the later is more valuable than the former theory-wise.

Total novice here at split pot games. I understand we want to be playing for scoops, but still don't quite understand the fold at 53:47. You say the 7 is a bad card, but you still figure to have a much smoother 7 draw to a low while while any ace or jack could easily win for high with two cards to come.

I tend to play tight when the bets double, but think I would've taken one more off here. How big of a mistake is that exactly? My concern (for me) is that you didn't even seem to consider this close. Also, you say you'd have been more inclined to continue if he paired his 2 door card, which while I understand you have more outs to a bigger pair, it's also more likely he made trips with the 2, no? Can you explain this general concept to a novice?

Thanks,

Both good things to think about. I don't think it's a bad spot to continue with the 3 flush and as you mentioned a smooth low draw. The issue is that we need the 2 & 6 for low and our high cards aren't very live (dead 77 and J). If all those cards were live it would be significantly better. There are also some reverse implied odds to consider when making our pair of aces or jacks. They won't always be good when we do make them. So really we're only excited about hitting a low card below a 7. My instincts were to fold here, but I can see peeling to be ok as well because our 7 draw is smooth and we do have the 3 diamonds.

The comment about the 2 pairing I may have been unclear. I was more referring to just being against a pair of 2s in general, not pairing the doorcard. so if his board read |722 I'd be more inclined to peel.
