You mention, prepare yourself for winning and prepare yourself for losing

Think it’s part of accepting the result no matter what the outcome, obviously we don’t want to get stacked for 5 buy ins this session, sometimes we do! And sometimes we win 5 buy ins.
I think something not only myself but lots of poker players do, when they get stacked once or twice at the table. They’ll say to themselves okay time to tighten up try to double up, deviating from their own style. Which may work some of the time. Although, I think If you just stick to making the best decision, each hand you’re in, counting in all the lines you can take, is better approach than, oh boy I usually 3 bet this hand, but I’m just gonna flat or maybe even fold! because I don’t want to get stacked. It’s something that I’ve felt, certainly when I’m tilted.
Generally, when your thinking like that too, your just scared to play. The fear of losing is overtaking your ability to make the best decision.

Yes and at times slightly deviating from your style might not be terrible, as long as you don't start playing unreasonable and completely "incorrect" poker.
The reason is, that your game might not be perfect and a slight deviation from your game can sometimes have you make a decision you don't make usually and it is not as bad as you might think. The thing with it though is, that you don't understand in that moment why that decision is not that bad and thus it is not repeatable, which then would make a permanent switch to that strategy not good and kind of impossible, as you don't understand why that deviation was good in that specific moment.
So the reason to stick to your well known method there is repeatability and thus more consistency in your game, which will overall net you a more constant win.

Yes, and your opponents may be deviating from their own strategy to exploit you as well! So it’s important to stay focused of everything that’s happening in game!
