Self doubt I think plays a role in your game, and tilt
You need to have the confidence in yourself And your play to sit down, a bad session or downswing can make yourself self doubt your abilities and game from time to time

Hey, glad you liked the video, thanks for letting me know!
Yes absolutely will self doubt creep in and play tricks on you, part of it can be useful and you study your game and learn and improve. But you also have to realize that, it is to a certain degree a choice of how much you go into the rabbit hole and let it effect you.
It already has effects on one, but by going down the rabbit hole of this type of thinking and questioning, the effects will be amplified

Do you think, some of that of how it effects you is being realistic about your game where your at and your abilities? Like wanting to be the best player you can be in your own player pool in the games your playing, while one aspiring to be playing in higher stakes games

Poker is a very hard game and sometimes you can do things very well and still get bad results and that will then make you question your game, your abilities and your approach. When you engage with your negative thoughts and emotions, make sure you do so in a productive way that is based on reality and not on variance.
Somthing many might think now is. Well, things are usually not as black or white, it is somewhere in the middle. I play well, of course I make mistakes, but I also run bad and then I start feeling worse and lose my confidence and so on.

But that is allowing results to dictate how you feel and how good you think you are.
You will likely find a few more mistakes in your game when you are running poor for a while, but that is normal, a pro athlete will not always have the same exact performance but will continue to go to the gym, go to practice, work on things.
They will also hit moments of low confidence.
What the coaches then do is they remind them of who they are, they help them see it in perspective and they tell them to focus on something that requires much less luck but more effort.
In Basketball it might be defense as a more obvious one, but less obvious would be, trying to find situations where you can attack and use your normal skill and then get an easy "win" or score.

In Poker, you might tighten up for a little bit and wait for your spots to attack and not fight like crazy over every pot, especially those that are just not going to go in your direction.
When you play tighter, you remove some of the more margin situations and thus you can focus more on those spots that you are strong with and you have perhaps an easier time to find your groove back.

I think, as well, when those things are going bad for you, not to be too overly critical of yourself, sometimes you may of played a hand or session even badly, but don’t take it personally like oh wow I must be such a bad poker player/degenerate feels like you just punted away someone buy ins

As well as athletes, I think doing the same routine, consistently and efficiency everyday leads to success and I think that includes some aspects of poker. Playing the same disciplined style long term will hopefully lead to success.

Yes, and accepting that sometimes you will not show up with your best and that is ok, sometimes your worst shows up. Accept it, let it go, work on your mistakes and work on loving yourself, being compassionate, gentle as well with yourself and others.

Loving yourself is so huge. Sometimes we can look at a sim or ask a friend about a hand and we may get feedback that we played the hand terrible and not theoretically correct. It doesn’t mean that we’re a terrible poker player or person as a result!

Also, loved the Bruce Lee quote and the Japanese archer story! I think you used it in an older video of yours

Psa I watched the show Shogun couple months ago been meaning to read the book but haven’t gotten around to it yet

I loved Shogun, was very cool and subtle.
I might have had the archer story, before, I don't remember, but never with the old man voice haha
