12:04 upper left (step F) TT on Q74r. Against two tough players and oop do you x/c this hand sometimes ? In overall the board is so dry that you have more nutted hands than they have and this should be the reason for range protection bet ?
I don't think we need to develop a big checking range since we are opening very tight and have a range advantage. If I chose to x/c I would do it with a hand like QTs over TT as it has a much easier time calling multiple streets.
19:10 - What are the reasons for not having flatting range in the SB? What are we doing vs. 4Bets with AJo and with hands like JTs? Aren't we a bit too shallow to flat and a bit too deep to shove over 4Bs? If we are 3Betting everything that we want to play isn't that a bit exploitable?
30:20 - Interesting point on open shoving Q8s. I ran this spot in HRC and normally it would be unexploitable open shove, but if we remove top of our range (which we would be open raising and calling a shove) it becomes -cEV to open shove Q8s since blinds can call wider. You said that you like open limping there 16bb deep, but it seem that it would be hard to balance our range here and have enough hands to call a shove with. How do you approach balancing here?
37:00 - With AQo 44bb deep I assume we are 3B/Folding vs. the original raiser? Most people seem to flat here so would be interesting to hear arguments for 3Betting?
42:30 - With 22 vs. a guy who is opening 14bb stack into 4 reshove stacks maybe a bit too light to reshove?
Regarding the AJo hand, it's more of a stack depth issue for me. If we are 100bb or more deep we can call some 4Bs with certain hands, whereas with 62bbs we are put in a 4B shove or fold spot a lot. Therefore, we kind of are unable to realize our equity with hands like suited broadways or even that AJo.
I don't really agree with ever being 'too shallow to flat'. We are oop so having a small SPR isn't a bad thing.
jlzlt10 years, 6 months agoI guess so, but compared to flatting we get ourselves into a lot of dicy high variance spots where we have to combat his 4Bets. Thanks for replying btw, great vid.
In the three videos, I saw that your sizes pre flop to open raise are very different at situations that seems to be almost the same situation... do u have a rule to open raise 2.5x, 2x, 2.08x, 2.22x, etc... or you randomize them?
on 37:10 you open 66 from UTG with 20bbs on EPT 215 SAT, and u have already opened from ep another 66 before... almost always u are raising/fold right? what do u think about open folding these small pairs (66-) from EP with 25bbs- since they dont play post flop very well and we wont get it in pre flop? And what about 77/88, raise/decide or almost always raise/call?
My raise size varies based on a few factors, primarily my position and the stacks behind me. I don't have a formula or anything but every hand will have slightly different variables.
37:10 If you look closely you see my curser trace around the table before I raise. There are two <10bb stacks which I can comfortably call a shove from. I think you will see plenty of examples of me folding these low pairs in similar spots with nobody I can call.
Nearly impossible to watch it on the tablet and very difficult as well on my laptop. so I gave up for tonight to try to watch it. obviously good content inside but I think more and more that these kind of video are not for me because of my level of poker which is far from you guys, and even more to be able to follow ten table while trying to understand. I stick with my request of concept vids for MTT and I still think that is a key to learn instead of being a spectator of a multitabling show, but for sure you have to satisfy everybody so I don't blame it. I will maybe go back to essential school to be able to watch this in the futur :)
Sorry for the excess tables. Like you said it is hard to please everybody and if you check out my other videos the majority are single tournament hh reviews where I go more in depth about specific hands. Next time I do one of these I will keep it to 4-6 tables.
Quality is fine when i watch it on my macbook but when i switch the browser over to my external screen everything suddenly becomes blurry, think it is because you recorded it on a Retina display mac so the quality is to high for non retina screens maybe? just a wild guess, anyways great video liked the content!
45:00 you thought about 4bet shoving 77 from the bb in the sunday rebuy vs carloss86 his 3bet from the sb vs a cutoff open, but then folded anyway, what would your range be for shoving here?
@ 3betting with 76s in the beginning: How do you construct your 3bettingranges versus good opponents or in spots you are generelly tight in (EP v MP&late /from the bb) deepish? Seems to make sense to 3bet nuts and suited connectors imo, what do you think how we can balance the ranges there?
Yeah nuts and some suited connectors is generally what I go for. If I were to have a very narrow value range vs a good player I will just not have a 3b range in certain spots.
hey man enjoy your vids, as u mentioned some people said they had trouble seeing stack sizes etc..., for me makes it hard to follow action clearly and many arent probably getting what they could be out of this vid as a result, maybe its possible to focus in on 6 tables or so to be able to see all the sizing etc... anyway look forward to more vids from you and gl
Hey Stephan, I have been using Holdem Resources calculator alongside Pokerstars for a long time. Do you think Pokerstars can somehow find out about this and get us in trouble?
It says on the website they can see what programs you have open while you're playing but probably someone just reported me after seeing me do it in a video.
Early on in the video you just flat called an early raiser with 77 on the button. Is your call the norm or do you have spots where you 3bet there? I'm sure some hands you'd play different if not having 12 tables up.
another great vid, from the mind of a sicko. thanks for taking the time, to answer all the questions above. best of luck for the remainder of WCOOP stevie
great video stephen! at 38min u 3b AQo 375 to 900 with 6500 effective stack at 75/150 ante verus MP in later position (and u get cold 4b), r u doing this to fold to initial opener jam? is it a blockers play cuz i think AQo is a nice hand to call with here unless u perceive to be squeezed too much
Around min 20 you 3 bet 107suited on the button against and EP raise, when you flop the 7, are you betting for value, protection or as a bluff still? When he raises, I don't see how you can fold, because he is repping very little? Does he raise there with AQ or a set? I think he has many more bluffs in his range + flush draws.

Thanks and sorry for a long post :)
AJo - what makes a 3b or fold range exploitable?
Q8s - I would balance by limping monsters and hands that can call a shove and also play well 3 ways like KQs
AQo - I think its a fine hand to either flat or 3b and yes likely folding to a 4b depending on size and villain
22 - I don't think so

yeah that could definitely be the issue, glad you enjoyed it
45:00 you thought about 4bet shoving 77 from the bb in the sunday rebuy vs carloss86 his 3bet from the sb vs a cutoff open, but then folded anyway, what would your range be for shoving here?
If I almost shoved 77 I guess I would have been shoving 88+ and probably AJs,AQo

Idk the exact situation but yeah flatting is the norm for me early in the tournament.

Thanks mike!
@9:54 in the 109 Turbo: K8o seems like a clear +cEv shove.
Nash calculator suggests: 38.8%, 22+ Ax+ K2s+ K7o+ Q6s+ Q9o+ J7s+ J9o+ T7s+ T9o 98s.
You're very aware to shoving ranges even more due to your sng experience and it's clear that you're tanking a bit there. What am I missing?
Oh yeah, and great video as usual. Big fan here!
Nice find, I missed one there.
Hey, in the end of the video in step you fokd to Wushus shove w A3s but I can't see his stack coyld you tell me how many blinds he had there, ty.
