Hello Stephen, another great video.

13:56 AKo on bottom left. I tend to flat pre ante more AKs and 3bet AKo given multiway equity. What do you think ? You should have the best hand on 543dd a good percentage of the time but you have no diamond in a texture that hits a lot BB defending range. The frequency that you can take this to showdown should be way lower than a HU pot against MP, so this don't take the incentive to call kinda a large flop bet on this board ?

Hey Raphael, thanks.

I would flat AKs at a higher frequency than AKo also. I disagree that it hits BB range hard vs a 3x pre ante...I think he will be more weighted to high cards and mid connectors and I think we have too much equity vs the cbet range to fold in position to a 2/3 pot bet.

29:20 55 against utg open. What stack sizes do you need to call there?

Stephen Chidwick 10 years, 3 months ago

I would prefer to think of it as 20x the amount we have to call but it also depends on a lot of other factors like who is behind us and with what stacks, the range of the opener etcetc

11:15, 88 4bet shove all in on 21bb vs a click back, I tend to have trouble in these spots where opponent less than 2X 3bets as its either nutted and they don't want you to fold or they want a cheap 3bet steal/freeze opponent and take control of pot. Any advice for dealing with this sizing etc? Have you seen opponent 3b/f this sizing, does he 3bet bluff vs EP open, or did you jut assume hes a reg? Id like to know the fundamentals on this, your pretty much saying theres a huge difference between his 3bet/f and 3bet/c  range vs your EP open on 21bb. This seems reasonable against certain opponents, but against a lot of players and ppl I have no reads its hard for me to comfortably shove this.

Hey annouza, thanks for the question.

I was saying in the video that you need to be very sure villain is almost always nutted to not be shoving 88 because there is so much in the pot and you are flipping a decent amount when you get it in so if you have any reasonable fold equity whatsoever it will be a profitable shove. I do recognise the guy as a reg and he is a supernova in a pretty reggy tournament so I think its an easy shove. Depending on what games you are playing, the population tendencies might be such that the sizing is always nutted and you can make an exploitable fold or even peel. You just have to estimate your opponents range as best you can with the info you have.

39:10 AJo reshove. What information do you need to shove here? On what circumstances would you fold? How do you feel about 3bet-folding against certain oponents?

43:16 What do you think of jdtj A3o shove in the 2.1k step?

Stephen Chidwick 10 years, 3 months ago

Hey praturtesim,

AJo - I don't need any info...shoving is my standard. 3bet folding would be fine vs certain opponent tendencies.

A3o - I think its a slightly bad shove.

Hello Stephen,
great vid as always!
@45:20 top right KQhh, you snap folded the river. Villain raised your cbet after a call,  barreled on turn and shoved on the river. I think his value range would be something like 22,66, few combos of KT,KJ,KQ (K6s given his VPIP/PFR stats?), and his bluffing range would be any 2 heart, 34cc,45cc.
If he doesn't always play KQ and KJ like that, isn't this a profitable call? what do you think about this range I exstimated?Would you have folded on a river blank such as 8 of spades?
Thanks!

Stephen Chidwick 10 years, 3 months ago

Hey gogogo, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the question.

I don't think he has KT/KJ/KQ almost ever and we can discount flush draws some as I think most people are just overcalling them on the flop. He certainly has a very narrow value range but I just don't see this type of bluff enough from a random to be calling a pot sized river shove. We also have one of our worst bluff catchers since we have both the K and Q of hearts and Jxhh might check back the river.

hi Stephen,

AJo reshove.. 39:10.. what is your range for reshove? i did some math on utg 20bbs range, and what do u think!?

Equity  Vencer  Empate

55.06%  50.75%   4.31% { 55+, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, JTs, AJo+, KJo+ }

44.94%  40.63%   4.31% { AJo }

so, if this is correct, can u elaborate more your reshove?

thanks

Thumbs up for a great video series!

Would love to see you do a 6max or 9max sng series, or even just one video, as I see you are playing them quite a bit!
