Really great vid, thanks very much. Would you consider doing one on thin value betting otr? I think I miss out on a lot of value there because I sort of hate to BF when sometimes it is the correct line
Thanks :) Depends on the stakes you're playing but at PLO200 and lower people very rarely bluff river so I wouldn't be really afraid of being bluff raised. I also think that on the mental game level it is important to understand and accept the fact that the aim of the game is not to avoid BF but to make the play with highest EV ;-)
And btw, in my opinion deciding between BF and CC lines on the river is one of the most important postflop aspects in PLO.
Hi LB just have a quicky about the poker juice section. The pot in question was when V bet 183 in to 232 on River. So we are getting 3.27:1, so have to be right 30.58%of the time to break even. But when you poker juice it and assign him 62% of hands on button his air is only 11.30%. So does this then make it a super easy fold if we have to right 30.58% and he only has 11.30% bluffs which is the only hands we beat ?
Hi, you need to compare the amount of bluffs to vbets. Remember that your opponent will usually check back with some SD value hands like AK, AT, A6 and he will be usually betting with high flushes and blockers. In the actual hand his check back range otr is around 60%. His air is calculated from the rest 40% of his range, => 11% from 40% is 27.5%. Do you see the difference?
So the amount of bluffs/(bluffs+vbets) needs to be at least the same or bigger than your equity needed for call.
Thanks for the great video, i did not thought much much about preflop range when bluffcatching, but your examples make a lot of sense.
What would u consider a good RCE - river call efficiency - value? Mine is 1,25 at PLO50, and honestly i don't know if it is alright.
Tbh I am not really sure about that. Imo it should be more or less over 1.15. Why? Because it is an average from your check/calls OOP and calls IP.
OOP everything above 1.00 should be fine (you can filter for check/calls)
IP your CRE will be always bigger, sometimes your opponent will shove into you the rest of the stack when you hit the nuts etc. So having CRE of 1.00 IP means you must be doing something wrong. Therefore your IP CRE should be around 1.25-1.3 or bigger. According to my analyses this is more or less an equivalent of CRE 1.00 OOP.
Therefore your total CRE should be more or less over 1.15 but I would really appreciate if someone can confirm that.
1) In the hand where he had A684 and rivered the fullhouse, you see no point in raising the river, despite the fact that we almost always have the best hand? Maybe somehow he shows up with 66 or you feel this is a bad argument?
2) In the hand where he had QT96, why did the turn raise from 12$ to 32$ of villain seemed weird to you?
1) Good point, you are right, I should have raised, especially given the fact that I have some dynamic with Arnie. And he could definitely find a call with some worse hands. I was focused more on the very clear sizing tell of my opponent and missed the obvious ;-)
2) It seems weird because full pot raise is around 51 (3x12+pot) - on such a draw heavy board it makes no sense to raise only 32 with J9 because I can call a bigger raise with sets, lower straight or a hand like 2p+FD. This sizing usually means to me a thin value raise with T8/88/T8+FD/46/96 type of hands. I expect that most of players with J9 would raise >$40. These sort of plays always look a little bit suspicious. Therefore most of regs in his shoes would like to get as much value as possible with J9. As you can see this time my reads were wrong ;-)
Hey! Nice video!
On the hand with A864ss do you consider raising the river? Since we excluded AJ from his range, and he might call with Ax or sometimes even KK if he puts you on a busted staight draw.

Thanks for the video, Leszek.

Yeh I was thinking the A864 was a very tight play by LB, we have the second nuts and and he didn't even consider raising.
Another great vid. Thanks
