Nice one! Like the video format, Looking forward to see more!
Some questions, Hope they are not too many.
8:50 KQs
- What are reasonable raise/fold hands for villain ?
- When we have stats that say villain is very tight/nitty how would this play out, would the EV of calling maybe be higher than shoving ?
12:22 QQ on 655s 3way, On the turn as villain, should we bet or check/back more with our range ? With our FDs, hand like 99 its not great getting x/r right ? But the PP's can certainly benefit from protection. What are your thoughts and what size should villain use ?
19:45 56s, Turn sizing you suggest 1/3 ?
21:59 33, what hands are you checking back and then bet/call this turn ?
25:16 KQ flat COvsSB, What range do you think can we flat there on 25bb ?
31:00 TT reshove 20bb's: What range would you flat here or is it better to do reshove or fold given the positions ?
8:50 KQs
-Most players at these stakes are over-folding to this raise so raising any 2 cards here is probably +EV. Any KhXh seems reasonable. All combos of KQ, QJ, JT are pretty profitable because he can rep on a lot of boards and has decent equity versus my C-bet range.
-Great question. If we were in position I like flatting more. It's brutal if we flat flop, call turn, and then river a Q. Now what? Do we shove or check to him. Not realizing our equity with this hand would suck. A tight player wouldn't have many pure bluffs and may get scared off if we hit a spade.
12:22-QQ
-Villain should check back here more often than betting. Reason being, hero still has all the nutty hands as well as some flush draws that would be fine checking through on turn and seeing a river. Protecting with 99 is valid, but when Hero C-bets this board into two people it narrows his range a bit and eliminates many combos of the JT-KJ suited type hands that may be opening. This would essentially limit the amount of pure bluffs Hero has. Also, by checking back with 99, he can bet a-lot of rivers when checked to again. Hero may look up Villain with 22-44,AK(sometimes), and sometimes bluff. Villain has heaps of equity and is really only scared of AK outdrawing him.
19:45-56s
-I hate this hand. I hate it because we don't take control of the hand. If we lead turn he mostly just calls with the hands that are beating us and it allows us to protect a bit. When we check turn we have no clue where we are at and have to play two streets of playing a guessing game. Betting 1/3rd seems reasonable to me. Accomplishes the same things as 1/2 pot.
21:59- 33
Check-back hands that are bet/calling here could be 9x, 55-77,Ac5c, any AhXh combo. Most players at this buy-in won't be exploiting our weak check flop/ bet turn range.
25:16 KQ
-Flatting 77-AA seems okay. AxTx-AxJx, KQ, JxTx,QxJx, KxJx seems about right. All of these hands play well post flop and we can check raise a-lot of boards and rep monsters. I like check-raising this board and flop C-bet quite a bit. Versus a very loose opener, shoving all the hands listed above will most likely be more profitable than flatting.
31:00- Villain dependent. but I'd be flatting AA,KK, AK(sometimes) and AQ suited sometimes. Versus strong Regs I wouldn't have a flatting range.
Your voice is very soothing. It calms me down. I love the way you explain things. Thank you for doing this. Great first video! Hopefully, many to come!
Do you base your decisions on HUD to exploit villains on this level?
To answer your last question on the video, I like more live play and theoretical videos.
If you use Pio solver I would like to learn something from it.
Hey, Thanks for the nice message! In regard to HUDs, I have been toggling my HUD on and off lately to try a few different things. I sometimes find myself over-relying on the HUD in certain areas and levelling myself, especially considering the sample size needed for some HUD stats to be valid indicators. For the most part, I am only using the HUD to get a feel for Villains aggression level and to construct a range for him and versus him. I will try to incorporate some HUD analysis in the next video.
I don't use PIO as of today but it is something I plan to expand to in 2018.
Enjoyed this you obviously care about the content you make hopefully you will keep it as good as this one! Quick note if you feel like speaking more quickly (I know nor everyone has English as first language )that would be great not a biggy though as I can watch it at 1.25x speed.
Thanks for the comment. I have been told my whole life I speak way TOO fast. So the fact that it is going the other way means i'm closer to "optimal". I will stay aware of my rate of speech for future videos.
I like you work so far. Just the vid quality is quite poor. I coulnd read the ranges at the end when you worked with that soft.
One thing I would like to ask is your bet sizing. I noticed you use quite small bets on even wet bords, where I would have thought to bet on larger side (1/2 pot) with my whole range. Could you explain your approach to betting on smaller side and how often that works in your experience on these stakes?
Hey Surda, Thanks for the message. I will play around with the quality when I am working with the software and make sure it is good for future videos. Often times I am using small sizing with 100% of my range. Sometimes that changes depending on my/or my opponents stack-to-pot ratio. My experience is people make bigger mistakes later in the hand because they check-call with trash, or over check-raise flop and then try to make a move later in the hand.
Mostly I am using a strategy that is the same sizing regardless of the board. I think as long as we recognize players are defending wider later in streets then we can adjust and play properly versus them--defend more versus their river leads when we check back turn.
Hello, great video, anxious to watching more videos from you.
25:00 KQo on the SB vs CO, in the end of the hand you say that if he had checked behind on Turn and the river was anything but a A, you would bet. What size would you use?
Enough to make him fold! 2/3rds pot would get him to fold AX and some of his pairs lower than the J. We are repping a medium strength 1 pair type hand with this line. We also don't have too many bluffs given we are in the small blind.
Hi WhatArunAA, thanks for the video !!! I just see your sharkscope, you are in a badrun since 2015 on Pokerstars, 8000 games BE but this is on huge fields, how do you feel it?? Maybe playing others sites?
Thanks a lot for the video, just perfect Bro !
I think Stars is getting softer due to their recent marketing attempts to capture more players. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the rake increases and what that does to profitability!
I really like this style of teaching with a calm and analytical tone after one viewing. I'm in the process of analyzing the hands and it's very valuable for me as a newbie. Thanks!
I would like to see you going through all the hands, so we could have a better idea of your pre-flop range in different situations. Great video anyway!
Hey man Im a bit late for thr party but got a question. At 24:18 I find really interesting what you said about low variance routes. I would like to adopt this strategy if you can elaborate a bit, like what situations/hands/villains qualify. Really nice informative video!

Pretty difficult to read the odds checker (lots of aliasing), even on max quality.
Liked the video otherwise!
Thanks for the feedback. I'll be aware of this for future videos!
Great video, thank you. And thank you for the detailed response to That's a Bingo's questions. I learnt a lot. Going to watch part 2 now.

+1 for this good question! Looking forward to your reply Thomas.
Really good video series! I really liked the key take aways on the end of the video.

Also what do you think about flatting TT since you are up against an utg raise and call a reshove if felipe folds?
