KJss on 07:50 you should not be betting the T turn ? Since he checks back OTF he is probably capped and you are not and since you are near the bottom of yours and this isn't a good spot to fire ?
Hmm I think hes almost never folding to 1 bet here. Definitely could see trying to barrel him off of his AK/AQ combos he checks back flop with, but I think he is barreling them pretty often on the flop because his range looks so strong pre. Also he is barreling his bluffs if he has them. So I am pretty reluctant to commit to firing 2 barrels in this spot given the lack of information on him this early and the he still has a very strong range, if capped to 1 pair types.
for sure is not a mandatory bluff but I see that works more than it should to be profitable. Beside that, I just got called by a random on this exact situation few minutes ago
About the 89s hand at 25:40 . I'm always having difficulties to figure out how to adjust for shoving ranges with over 10BB effective stacks.
Push fold charts defines the ranges here for 10BB w 7 players left to act as: 22+ A8s+ A5s ATo+ K9s+ KQo Q9s+ J9s+ T9s.
So 89s would just miss the cut. Does the fact that the stack is bigger actually make it more profitable to shove a little lighter here or is the chart just not precise enough in this spot?
DH, I answered the question specifically below, but I just wanted to add that Holem Rescources Manager is so key for figuring out push fold of any stack size. Lets you figure it out in a much more fluid fashion than a chart because you can see how the different stack sizes behind also affect your range.
I'm confused w/ the 89s hand. Against a calling range of 66+,AT+,KQ you have 36% equity. Add every suited Ax and you go up to 37%. Throw in QJ/KJ and you still have 37%. At 35% equity you would be able to shove the following range: A,KK-22,KQ-KT,QJ,Kx9x-Kx4x,QxTx-Qx9x,JxTx-Jx9x,Tx9x-Tx8x,9x8x-9x7x,8x7x-8x6x,7x6x,6x5x. Are you shoving 56s in this spot as well?
Well gentlemen. Thanks for your comments and it looks as if I was incorrect here with this hand. I assumed it would be a profitable shove, but having run the numbers my range should be:
14.9%, 33+ A8s+ A5s ATo+ K9s+ KQo Q9s+ J9s+ T9s
98s is -.06 so should only include it if I think people are calling much tighter than they should. I had guess that having 3 people behind that have less chips than me made it a shove, but I guess they werent short enough or late position enough to effect it as much.
nice to see you back especially with fresh idea for next generation vid as you said.
-99 @ 16:00: I just don't understand and would like more details on the thinking process and illustration of what you said about this spot.
-I'm always puzzled with HH serie review of one tournament, for sure you mentionned a lot of key concepts but without going deep into it like difficulties to play 30bb stack or at 28:00 when you speak about stack size and raise/fold situations...
in fact in this tournament, you run good and get lucky but I guess that is not the common situation. I would prefer to see a HH review of 10 tournaments where you finish early and explain why, bad play and why is a bad play, good play and even if it didn't work, explain why.
Thanks man, its fun to be back producing again. Definitely missed it over the summer.
As far as the 99 hand is concerned here is kind of what I was trying to get across. In a situation like this where Ive been opening a lot, the villain in the sb is probably going to 3b his entire range as that is the way most players are playing in MTTs these days vs lp openers. We can picture most of his 3b hands as value or valueish hands like KQ, Axs, some maybe 66+ or something like that. Also throw in a smattering of weak Axs and some suited connector bluffs.
So if we give him this wide range of hands in this situation, our specific hand does way better when we allow him the illusion of fold equity. Basically if we just shove over his 3b we are folding out the portion of his range that we have the most equity against. Allowing him to not 3 to 5b with worse pairs, Axs or random blowup bluffs. By just jamming myself I am getting called by most of his strongest hands here.
As to future videos, I will definitely try to make an upcoming series of live play so you can see how things may or may not go well during the early/mid/late stages of a given day. Mostly I have done replays of tournaments where I ran well because it allows us to talk about all stages of play.
19 min in, my gut reaction was the 77 is a fold. Haven't watched the results yet, but ran the math. Need 38.5% vs his range to break even. He would have to have 66+, KQs, ATs, AQo. Not too far a stretch, but i don't think it's a range that's normal. The guy does have some pretty solid numbers over a lot of hands...

thanks Dylan for the reply and explanation. looking forward for your next vids.
also if it is possible I'd like you tackle some concept of play regarding available move vs stack size. thanks
