I would like to hear out your reasoning for why you prefer anonymous (assumed lower rake) games. I have a differing opinion from yours, but you are a winning pro so you must have your reasons so I'm open to looking at them.
Maybe you've misunderstood that point, I just prefer it over a high rake environment given the same stakes are being played.
I personally would like to have more clarity about the anonymous players also, for example 24hours later, being able to import them into a tool and then seeing the username. I can't know how it feels to be losing long-term in such an environment, but I could see a point of it feeling worse.
We shouldn't forget the advantages though, the losing player is protected a lot from bumhunting and therefore will lose at a much lower rate. You can also get away with quite a few plays that you might not otherwise get away with, given nobody has stats on you. It also opens up a new metagame, where you might want to change your betsizing from time to time, not to give away your "style", once action is going on every day and on a rather competitive level.
Do you believe more liberal bankroll parameters should be employed if you are a proven winner at Midstates when starting over establishing a bankroll at micro Stakes if so how far would you extend this threshold?
You can have quite aggressive BR management at the micros as a winner, if you can make the money back in a regular job. With regular income you can play on 30 buy-ins, if it doesn't bother you when you run < EV and having to redeposit.
Hi Andreas nice video…
I recognize myself in a lot of issue you’ve described unfortunately.
I’ve settled to grind for a living NL25-50, constantly cashing out sums in order to eat.
I played in games where I am winner clearly, but spent a lot of years for nothing basically.
That’s sad obv, but it’s quite conforting that you remind me that even some other player might have the same problem. I don’t feel alone among with my mistakes anymore.
Your video is a solid reminder for myself, to work my ass off and to commit 100% to poker
Some questions if you don’t mind
Regarding apps games, you wrote that games are soft at times… but how can you discern from a soft game to just a full of colluders?
You mentioned a lot the live games. I have some friends who play for a living in the european casinos and one friend in LV. They cannot get me some good estimations of the winrate, given that is very very hard to assess your advatange in those few thousand hands.
Do you know what winrates are achieveable at NL and PLO? I’m talking about 5-10 mainly
1) There is no way, I'm a losing player on pokermaster, won on PPP but games weren't too good and I had no fun playing there. The only way you can know that you're not cheated is when you're winning :)
2) You can win 5-15bb /hour from my experience and some winning players that I know. If you're the best in the game, especially with low rake and deep stacks and a huge losing player, you might even be able to do more). In Europe, a lot of players won't beat the rake.
Very nice presentation and very cleanly expressed thoughts.
I just renewed my RIO membership, was not familiar with you, but I am really impressed with your clear thinking style!
There are cases of countries like mine that have access to very few sites (due to country regulations). Namely almost only pokerstars.
What you think is a realistic achievable win rate 4x tabling 4 (non zoom) PLO100 tables in pokerstars given the rake of course?
Thanks! In my last youtube video I compared some PLO50 winrates across Pokersites. As for PLO100 non-zoom, 5-10bb/100 are possible if you're a good winner, but then higher limits might be also better to play. Generally moving up > trying to get that extra 1bb/100 at your current stake.
Sure, in Europe it's mostly close to 5%, cap 25€. Even though your cap is lower, it's a way worse structure and often a waste of time unless you have deep stacks/whales on the table. Australia in general seems to be very high rake, but a lot of people see value still in the higher stakes MTTs.

Hi
For live poker rake
can you give me a monetary example from europe
i live in sydney and the rake at the casino at the low stakes are 10% off the pot, capped at $15

Self-Awareness - very important thing!
