The title here doesn't disappoint. Much is covered in this one ~40 min video and as is common now on RIO: You learn a lot about using GTO Wizard, too.
You cleared up quite a bit of my confusion over equity distribution here, as well. Thanks for this video, your previous body of work here on RIO, and whatever you have next in the pipeline.
Question: Do we tend to do more overbetting IP than OOP? Or does nut advantage basically trump position?
Overall, this video teaches us about more than just overbetting. One of the better Essential videos I've seen in some time.
Thanks, it's really nice to hear this feedback. Much appreciated. ^^
To answer your question, nut advantage does trump position. It relates more to range interaction and SPR rather than being OOP or IP. If we have a nut advantage and we need to increase the size of the pot quickly, we do use overbets inb both situations (:
Actually you might end up seeing more overbetting OOP, but this is because we tend to x more strong hands OOP in order to xR, so we get to the next street with more nutted hands. This applies in delayed cbet spots as OOP aggressor, for example. There are other similar situations, but this is just a result of nut advantage not position.
Alexandra,
Great video. When we go for over bets, do we generally want to use geometric sizing to be all in by river unless the spr is really high? Also, at ~34:00 you talk about over betting bottom pair and how we can get better to fold as well as worse to call and can make two pair. Is one of the reasons bottom pair (a 6 in this case) is used as an over bet because it blocks villains' best hand in bottom set?
Glad you enjoyed :). Yeah, ideally we want to use geometric sizing when overbetting.
As for 6x, yes, one of the reasons is blocking value. I think 66 will just pure raise flop already, but we block some Q6 and J6 that call flop sometimes

Great video. I certainly don't overbet as much especially on the flop. This was a good node to cover.
Glad you enjoyed and got something from it ^^
Another great video Alexandra Fagaras!
It's really insightful how you covered the topics, especially why and when we overbet and the properties of good bluffs. I took great notes.
I am just sharing the one that I think summarizes the topic:
"Nut advantage dictates the bet size; Range advantage dictates the bet frequency."
Thank you for such content!
