Thank you! I assume it's because a5 has the added out of the gutshot and a7 is just above the required equity threshold to valuebet, whereas a6 has neither.
Hi Alex! Great vid, thanks for sharing. In the A8s hand, you mentioned that Adammo probably is overbluffing with his KT OTR and the solver agrees with this. You also mentioned that the solver is however bluffraising KK (30%) and JJ (50%) OTR, why do you think the solver picks these hands over KT and why do you think the solver only uses KT as a 5% bluffraise? Personally I probably would've also found the bluffraise at a decent frequency OTR. It may be because of the double blocker effect that PP's have, but I'm curious about your opinion! Cheers, Siebe
Hello, thank you! I think the main reason it picks kk/jj is that like you said, they block KJ much better while they also unblock my valuebets that bet/fold. Having a 10 isn't a very relevant blocker, because for OOP AT sizes down while QT always checks, so it doesn't really block any of OOP's valuebets in the 70% sizing.
Hey, welcome aboard, Alex Theologis! - I don't watch a whole lot of tournament videos, but based on this one, I will be watching yours. Much of what you spoke about was quite informative for cash game play as well. Nice work.
Great explanations on your thought process and thanks for the pio sims! Perhaps in the future you can include a rundown of an entire tourney with all your vpip hands.
Hello, great first video! I'm total no limit fish and hope the question is not very silly :) the 2nd hand on k42r why does IP raise 2x or so light in general against such a tight betting range?
Hey, thank you! No of course not, there are no silly questions. Even though the betting range is tight, 2x still benefits a lot from getting protection and value from worse hands while fully realizing the hand's equity and having really good potential bluffs on many different runouts.
Just a quick question regarding the AJs hand at 38:23 SB v BB with 17bb. I love the thought process of trying to exploit the player who is playing far too aggressive, however you say the only/best option is to re-jam AJs here. Wouldn't there be many benefits to limp/call this hand? It keeps in villain's bluffs that we dominate and it plays well postflop, what are your thoughts on this? Would you be more likely to do it in a pure chEV environment?
I think at this stack depth he is raise/calling so many worse hands that we dominate that we risk losing a lot of value by not jamming. Plus, folding out a hand like Q4o isn't that bad either. The hands we dominate are so few, Ax isn't r/f, suited hands aren't r/f, so we only dominate some bad jx.
Hey Alex, great first video! I really like your approach to explain the equilibrium and then go about your exploits and adjustment for every spot, I think it's the best way to teach/think about poker today. Excited to have new great MTT content here, which is very rare!
Sugestion: would love to see more in depth about bubble icm, just realized i'm a huge punter.
Haven't played mtt for more than 5-7 years. Quite curious why ICM at the end is so big there and we aren't punting a lot to target first place?
Is it because of big difference in prize between nothing and last itm place?
On the hand where bubble bursts (around min 36), what would your strat be in the BB position? Are you ever flatting the min iso from SB? Whats strongest hand youre folding? Thanks for input, watched your most recent video and now going back to the beginning.
Welcome, Alex! Fantastic Video! You explain very well and exciting to watch.
Will just watch another one before my grind.
One suggestion to make the video even better would be to do with the webcam on.
Thanks!

Welcome Alex ! Glad to have you on rio !
26:00 do you know why pio x A6o and bet A5 A7 ?
Thank you! I assume it's because a5 has the added out of the gutshot and a7 is just above the required equity threshold to valuebet, whereas a6 has neither.

Great video . Like the structure.

Enjoyed it, even the pio parts that i find tedious so often were right to the point. I would also like to see a full vpip HH rewiew.
Sick vid :)
