Great vid. All of the hrc sims were very helpful.

First hand kjo you said if opponent had bet flop bigger we would have more of a decision on our river vbet. Would you even chk river at some freq vs a big flop bet?

28:00 you talk about not wanting a limp rng b vs b at 18bb eff. Why is that? Is it because of icm?

At what eff stack size do we stop having a limp rng?

At chip ev with 18bb eff do you still have a limp rng?

Thanks!

Hey, thank you!

For the KJ hand, yeah, for sure! If he bets big otf then he immediately has a more polarised range, lacking 2nd pair/3rd pair hands etc. So against a more polar range, valuebetting river with KJ doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

As for the 97o hand, it isn't exactly a function of "18bb eff" but more of me being a big covering stack vs a shortstack on a ft bubble. In spots like this, we want to be playing a very raise-heavy strategy. At 18bb cEV yes, for sure, the majority of our range wants to be limping!

29:45 What’s the reason behind wanting to stabbing so wide here?

HeyGals 2 years, 8 months ago

BB range is weak and capped (although in this instance less so than in cEV spots) and has to play passive due to the PFA still being behind (in theory BB should have 0 x/r on this board) and the PFA just has a lot of auto folds (esp since he should be cbetting this board at least at a low freq).

Heygals nailed it! I don't really have much to add, it's a decent board for IP, both other positions have a lot of autofolds, our value stabbing range can also be relatively wide etc.

20:33 Looking at this spot now, would you ever play some non-AI 4-bets here? I think the strategy might change if you allow for small 4-bets in HRC.

Slightly delayed response but hey, not even by a year! I agree for you surely, there would be a bunch of non-ai 4bets and the sim shown wasn't set up optimally.
