Glad you are back! These cbet videos are a great help. This was well done.
14:15 and 25:15 I guess I am not totally clear on why we mostly half pot on the 2 tone board but prefer a lot of potting on the rainbow board. Is it because the 2 tone board can have more equity shifts on future streets?
I guess I thought that on 2 tone boards we would want to pot to get value now from draws whereas on rainbow boards we can size down as opponent has less eq overall and we don't need to worry about draws as much.
Thank you!
2 main reasons come to mind. First, as I mentioned in the vid, rainbow boards tend to be more static so our strong hands will remain strong and are tougher to outdraw and the second one being that we need to bet bigger on rainbow to target backdoor flushdraw hands, which are very sensitive to the sizing used.
Thanks for the video Alex -- really great content here.
@ 1:40 your sheet has A66r as only a 6% cbet using a 25% pot sizing -- GTOwizard has the same spot as a 51% cbet using 20% pot sizing with not much difference in the preflop ranges used. I was curious as to what you think could explain this?
Hey, thank you, glad you like it. I think there are a bunch of reasons for this, which all add up a little bit :
1) The open size in the gtoW sim is a little bit bigger so this makes the big blind defend slightly tighter but most of the hands affected have a 6 such as K6o or 86o
2) The big blind has a leading range on gtoW. In my sims I did not allow for that as I don't think it occures in practice, so this in combination with the above give a higher trip % to the big blind in the check node
3) The smaller sizing of gtoW also allows us to cbet a higher frequency
Great video @JustaDidi. Really excited to run through all of these 40bb vs BB spot videos you've done. I've been working in GTO Wizard and have been surprised at times by which boards had big bets, checks, etc. and think this series is going to help a lot
