gargamel_fk12 years, 3 months agoHey, one question: I try to bulit myself some reasonable x/r range cause now I have liike X/F 80% on the flop. What is the bottom semi-bluffing range that you would x/r here?? I mean you mentioned in the video about being dominated by better draws etc. Would you still X/r there/get it in like 45s, what about 6d7d,7d8d??
For your questions, I'm not sure what you're referring to a specific hand, or something in general. It seems like this pertains the 4th (last) hand in this video, but I just want to be sure. Please clarify so I can better answer your question.
gargamel_fk12 years, 3 months agoGot all the answer I needed in your fist video when you answered my questions. thanks a lot again and just ignore my post above cause you expleined it really great there.
Adrian Milroy12 years, 3 months agoOk great :) To add, I definitely would not get in 45s. If you refer to the video, the high-ness of the Khigh flush draw plays a big role (with the gutshot to help) vs. a weaker btn range that would get it in.
scout12312 years, 3 months agoCould u please stop including the most standard hands u could involving fish pls.I mean u are supposed to make midstakes vids, targetting midstakes players, Im aware u are one of the better players, so it would be appreciated if u could leave out those entirely standard hands vs fish And showcase more hands like the q6 or k10ss. thank you, cos those were well explained.
Adrian Milroy12 years, 3 months agoScout123: Sure, your request makes alot of sense. However, "fish hands" are still part of the game, but when I do replay one, I'll try to pick as interesting a hand as possible (personally, I don't think the ATs vs the Bob in this one was that boring)...
scout12312 years, 3 months agoI was refering to the 98 hand and the ak hand. I feel u ,sorry if it came across harsh, u have been puttin alot of effort into ur responses in this thread, so i definitely appreciate that, but the frustration is more coming from me knowing how good of a player u are, and how much insight one can get from this. If i could add one more thing, I think u should try to pick out hands where u dont use a vacuum line, because those unique spots, even though they can be interesting to analyze dont occur as often as other spots. So I would really be interested to know how u would play ur range on certain board textures rather than how u choose to play a hand in a vacuum. I assume a player at ur level is aware of different gameplans for different board textures. I think this is where most people struggle in terms of checking ranges on the turn or river or flop , or even constructing entire ranges. Didnt mean to go on this rant, but I hope u get some of my points and may consider it as some useful input for ur future vids. thx in advance.
WIth regards to the 98s hand here, yeah its pretty standard, the only thing really interesting is the turn C/R for value and the reasoning behind it. The AK hand? There's none in this video, and I did one in previous videos but that was vs. a reg. Are you mistaking my AThh on K66r flop for an AK? If so, that hand may be more interesting to you then, although we are still playing against a lower level player which we have no reads.
Just so I get you correctly, you'd like to see some game theory on how I'd play my range, on a certain board textures, in certain positions, vs certain regular savvy opponents? And board textures and situations that seem to come up often, right? You'd essentially want me to try to give advice on what our usual plan of attack is in these different situations vs. decent regs? Every time I analyze a hand, I only have 2 hole cards, and I talk about how to play them best in different lines. Would you want me to talk about different hands (my entire ranges of hole cards) in that exact spot and how I think we could play them profitably using different lines? Is this what you want to see more of? Please let me know, I value your input and I'd like to try to do things that my listeners want.
scout12312 years, 3 months agoSorry I mispelled regarding the A10hh hand. However, Wow, aprreciate the time u take for this replies man, makes me feel bad about potentially coming off a bit douchey in the thread before. Ok so the way I see it alot of people talk about balance, gto, but very rarely u will see them actually play their ranges on the different board textures rather than their actual holding.SO what I wanna know is if u have that sort of gameplan or if u rather focus on mixing up ur line with similar hands on the similar board textures. I mean to sum it up I dont think there's enough videos out there that talk about how u treat ur range in certain spots rather than ur hand. Finally if u think that it is better to not treat it that way in game , but rather play it based on the holding, then u should obviously continue making those. I think u got a pretty good idea of it in ur reply.
Thanks for taking such interest , very appreciated and refreshing.
Adrian Milroy12 years, 3 months agoOk, in my future videos (I've already made some prior to your comments that will be released soon) I'll try to talk about the lines that our actual holding can play well (what I usually do), and then imagine the entire range of hands that could be taking that line and discuss that on top of it. TBH, I definitely focus more on mixing up my lines with similar hands on similar board textures, but there are still ranges of hands that I or anyone could do that with.
Maybe doing another hand replayer video isolating 1. Certain type of opponent 2. Certain board texture and 3. Certain positional setup (these would be the control, or constant variables) and varying the types of hands of each end of the spectrum from our entire range and how we can play those. Say 4-5 hands concentrating on this exact spot could illuminate what we do with our range more. I'll see what I can do :)
scout12312 years, 3 months agoSounds good!!! Are u ever gonna make a video review of one of ur sessions, or a live play video?Adrian Milroy12 years, 3 months agoYeah in fact these are the only hand replayer videos I've made, the rest are 6 tabling MSFR pre-taped videos that I'm commenting on. A live one might be difficult to get in the analysis that needs to be said while I'm actually playing, but we'll see, maybe that will just a 2-tabling video or smth...Deactivated User12 years, 1 month agoCant wait *if there isnt 1 already i started from older videos*
scout12312 years, 3 months agoVery nice looking forward to that, I also agree that making the audio post session is the best way to go. gl
Becks12 years, 2 months agoI really enjoyed this video series. Not only was it fun and entertaining but also very informative. I also liked the AhTh Hand vs. the recreational player. Looking forward to more of your vids.
Serdec12 years, 2 months agohi, at 29:47 lets suppusse the turn its Q or 7 nonclub, and our buddy bob still firing... would you call? i think its fold but im asking to be sure :) when were your videos recorded? because i would like to see me at tables and listen wut u think about me hehehe (this is not my screenname) greetings
Adrian Milroy12 years, 2 months agoSerdec: In that hand, a non-club seven actually hit and I called. If a non-club Q hit I would've still called. Clubs have no bearing in this hand, hearts is probably what you mean... I think you might want to rephrase your question, it seems like there might be some typos.
These hands are from about 3 months ago. And my further videos will range from 3 months ago to 3 weeks ago. Maybe in my further videos u will make an appearance!
fitzroy12 years, 2 months agoIs there a way to show your HUD on these replayer videos so that you can point out a statistical leak and how to exploit it?
I don't use a HUD because I think I'm better without it. I would rather concentrate on what people are actually doing rather than having a HUD there to immediately give you what you want. I feel like a HUD is a bit of a "crutch". I have to work harder to get the information I need and I feel that it makes me improve to a better player in the long run because I constantly have to analyze other players, situations...etc.... And I train myself in a way that I can be a good player both online, and live.
I definitely don't hate the use of a HUD, I mean, it makes alot of sense! That's why everybody does it. A friend of mine used to always say "Info trumps no info". And having a HUD is just extra info at your fingertips... This is just my preference of how I like to play, and what's best for me.
You mention above that you play up to 20 table both FR & 6 Max. I currently 6-9 table FR at present, and would like to start playing six max too.
If possible could you consider doing a video which focuses on transitioning from FR to six max, as I have very limited experience at 6 max and imagine this applies to a lot of players.
PS I'm also going to try starting more tables, rather than just joining ones w/4-5 players minimum sat down :)
I'm not sure if making a video about transitioning from FR to 6max (or vice versa) would illustrate the differences that you are curious about. Furthermore, when thinking about making an actual video, I can't think of a format that would do us any good to show the discrepancies - Playing FR and 6max simultaneously wouldn't do it, and showing hands on a hand replayer is too concise and focuses on individual hands, which is really not what we are looking for here. The points that you want to know about are much broader than single hands or players.
What I think you should do is start a thread about the differences between 6max and FR. I bet a lot of other subscribers would thank you if you did, anyways... Once you do, I will weigh in on all the differences and subtleties that I have observed, which will be more like: "points to watch out for, or areas of the game to concentrate on". This should point you and others in the right direction of where you want to focus your efforts when switching over.
On most other forum sites, many threads have been created about this topic that elicit responses that range from one word to one sentence which are usually just silly jokes. I don't think you'll get any of that here. And by starting a thread, others will have opinions as well which can give you a broader scope of what to expect when switching over.
Deactivated User12 years, 1 month agoJust love reading the replies here and the quality of answers you provide.... keep up the good work *just wanted to say that.* GL
In your KTss hand, you've mentioned that "even if the opponent shows a set of 9's we have to call." The pot preflop was $95, you made a CR of $224 and he jammed for $960. The pot is $1279 and we have to put in $736 to call, and we are only getting 1.73:1. We need more than 33% equity. Am I missing something here??
No, you're not missing anything, it's me that's missing it. That's the last time I trust PT3's replayer odds, which is what led me to make that simply untrue statement about the set of 9's...It's always better to do the math yourself for this reason and I feel pretty embarrassed that I let that one get by me...
We're losing money calling vs. all three sets then obviously, but winning vs. the rest of the range. I can't believe that mistake has been unaddressed for so long, so thanks a lot for pointing that out.
