bigger returns, less variance : very interesting and useful observation !

However, you didn't show your Return On Time spent.
Did you check it ?

These big fields tournaments are also energy draining.

The duration of these is not that much longer than a typical 1000-player higher buyin MTT. I play a certain amount of games per session, these small ABI large fields do not make me have to play any longer than usual; if it does then that just means I am making an ultra-deep in it—which is a good thing!

The average duration for a 0-$6 MTT is 9.84hrs, whereas for $22-$60 it is 8.39hrs.

The extra duration is no issue when you factor in how +ev the end games are, and the fact that playing these tournaments is essentially variance free.

I agree that the big fields are energy-draining. They are definitely not for everyone!

Thanks for the answer, that makes sense.
I play higher buyin tournaments , one to 4 at a time, because they are smaller fields. they they last around 6-7 hours, but taking sats into account, it should add up closer to 8 hours.

I need to reconsider my approach in light of the benefits you pointed out.

WOW!!!!

Thanks for the sharkscope breakdown Adam! What an EGO CHECK! Any mid stakes mtt grinder who isn't implementing these into their schedule immediately is seriously value cutting!!!!

Thanks!

great stuff Adam. whats a typical weekday grind look like for u in terms of ABI, what sites, how long u play for etc? ur graph is very impressive and although ur obv a great player, think ur BR management and game selecting has helped that which just shows it takes more than just to be good if u want to make a lot of money in this game

My ABI is ~$38. I just play pokerstars & GGPoker. There are enough good games for me to play on those sites that I don't feel like I need to play other sites. I play from around 10am Pacific ($55 BB Mini HR) until whenever I bust my last tournament, which is usually around 5 pm. Thanks for the kind words!

The evening low stakes PKOs on Pokerstars are definitely incredibly value for removing some variance. I would say most evenings I either get close to my money back in bounties, and probably on average once in every three I'm cashing, with the odd deep run.
