Another great vpip video. Thanks for throwing in the sims.
20:20 with ak I wonder if we just get overbet jams on the flop? Maybe if we had a spade?
Even with a medium stack in pkos can you almost disregard icm since bounty hunting is a big source of profit?
I believe I asked this question in one of your first videos but I don't think you saw it. What is your opinion on late registering? Do you do it a lot? Are there tourneys where you never do it?
AK hand I just prefer to bet call the flop, even with a spade, overbet jamming doesn't accomplish much in my mind. Would rather get them to call flop fold turn with weak 10x or 9x as opposed to them just folding flop to our jam
You can't fully disregard ICM in bounties and every spot has it's own nuance. But that said, in general laddering is way less important and there is more upside to go for the win. Especially if its a close spot where you will win a large bounty, those spots I would prefer to gamble since then if I later get 1st place that bounty $ won will be exponentially higher. Also being big stacked has a ton of advantages in bounties, covering people is a big one. If you are short / mid stacked it is tough to play pots since people will be looking to bust you (especially if you have a large bounty on your head). Always use your best judgement and weigh the pluses and minuses when deciding whether to stray from ICM or not.
I do late-reg a lot. I do not have a big opinion one way or the other. The upside of late-regging is there are less people to beat for the same prizepool. The trade-off to that is that you do not have a lot of chips to play with. The upside of playing from the beginning is getting to bust fish who overplay their hands. I guess as a general rule I would say to late-reg more if the field is tougher, and play from the beginning in softer events.
